Selina Puerto Viejo

Has been such a nice experience staying at Selena, facilities were great and loved the AC in dorm! They have a good social vibe in the bar/pool area! Especially the staff Adis and Luna was so so helpful and sweet! They made me feel so welcome when I first arrived. Would recommend!

I stayed at selina hostel for one night, the staff and facilities were amazing. A special mention to Adis and y luna who made me feel soo welcome and gave 10/10 recommendation for Puerto viejo. Couldn’t ask for more!!! Thank you Drinks and activities with a live DJ all night

Great food and people! The environment is really friendly and fun. I love everything about Selina and the staff! The chicken tacos is delicious! And to drink, anything with Cacique I would highly recommend. The perfect place to solo travelers.

I turned to Selina in need of emergency co-work space and they let me down! After pre-paying and reserving the day before for a private room in the co-working area I arrived 45 minutes before an important zoom meeting to find the room had no WiFi, and no electricity - no functioning outlets or overhead lights! I ended up sitting in the dark and using my data. They have not even answered my written request for refund! Very unprofessional.

That hotel is too expensive for what it is offering. It looks like a very low class hotel. It doesn’t have a dresser to store our clothes, the bathroom is in very bad condition and it has a none GFI outlet close to the sink. The shower has a very sloppy support with $5 shower curtain. The room is very old with patches and dirt. The toilet has a brown dirty spots and I claim to clean it better. The access to the room has an electronic lock and they gave to us a resusable band to get access, other hotels supply a disposable band to prevent any desease and more use friendly. I normally spend my vacations in Punta Cana and you can see a big difference for the same amount of money

Our stay at Selina was just wonderful. We were two women staying for a work trip and shared the 2 bed apartment which far exceeded our expectations! We were a little nervous having read some of the reviews, but it felt like staying in paradise, we felt very safe, and the team were warm, friendly, welcoming and helped with everything we needed - we were sad to say goodbye! The Apartment was excellent; clean, huge rooms, huge TV, kitchen facilities and fridge (even a mini bar) air con worked perfectly (a life saver) and we even had our own front porch and hammock. The shower was hit and miss with cold/hot water but with the heat this didn't matter. WiFi was excellent and we were able to work in the apartment. Cleaners came every day and we had an abundance of fresh sheets and towels. The apartment was on the other side of the main road to the reception area and it was peaceful and beautiful, we saw many different wild animals right outside our room (sloths, agouti, hummingbirds) The Restaurant is brilliant - we had breakfast included and tried almost everything - huge portions and delicious and fresh, and lunch/dinner options were also fantastic (another vote for fish tacos), served by wonderful staff. The location is brilliant - not right in town so nice and quiet, right on an idyllic beach, and a ten minute walk through a beautiful jungle walkway (where we saw many sloths and monkeys) to the main town. There are several lovely bars and cafes a few minutes walk from the hostel as well if you don't fancy the walk into town. You can hire bikes from the hostel very easily if you need to go further, or they will happily arrange a tuktuk for you which is always available within minutes. In addition, we got to see lovely Africa the lab puppy every day, who belonged to the reception team - she was the best and made lots of fuss of everyone! The vibe is relaxed, safe, and friendly, and we felt at total ease staying there - Selina eased all our nerves we had before arriving and made for the perfect base to explore beautiful Puerto Viejo!

Solo trip with just my teenage son. It was a perfect location to access all the different beaches and rent a scooter. Breakfast every morning was teenage worthy of waking up to! Mary the manager was always smiling and helpful. Pretty cool there's a tattoo shop on grounds, I couldn't resist!!! Loved the artwork, paint night and morning pool time.

I came to puerto viejo intending to stay 3 days but ended up staying 3 weeks at Selinas! The staff were the friendliest, all the receptionists were especially helpful and kind! Keylin, Lu, Anna, Pam were a rockstar team, Damien on bar kept it in check and Yeiro came in clutch with tuktuk services whenever you needed. Felt like I found a family in puerto viejo. Beds were comfy with AC and the it was super easy to make friends with the other guests who were also working and travelling. I saw sloths and monkeys as I worked, a beautiful place right in the beach making it easy to take ocean swim breaks in between meetings. Can't wait to be back!

Excellent social hostel, great food (fish tacos!) and drinks and the staff make it. Especially Keylin- very welcoming and gets everyone involved in Volleyball! Fantastic massage 💆🏼‍♀️ little things like towel, toiletries in dorms add to it.
