A few days before my trip, I upgraded to the triple room with ocean view and I'm so glad I did. I ended up in a room with 4 beds on the top floor (the Escalesia room) and it had a spectacular view of the beach. On my first morning, I watched blue-footed boobies diving for breakfast without leaving my room, and on my last morning, I watched the beautiful sunrise over the ocean from my bed! It's a very nice-sized room with plenty of hooks for hanging clothes & wet items to dry. Abel is an accommodating host. He both picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. If he's not around on property, he's easy to get ahold of via WhatsApp. The WiFi worked great on property and in my room. Nice warm water in the shower. I loved La Jungla's quiet location near the end of the beach—right next to the walkway along the wetlands toward the tortoise center and at the beginning of the trek to the Wall of Tears. It was really like having a private beach just steps away. And the walk into the main part of town is very short. The property doesn't serve breakfast, but there is a kitchen to make your own meals, and a cafe very close (right next to Iguana Crossing hotel), where I enjoyed two delicious breakfasts. In the evening, it was lovely to enjoy empanadas & a cerveza from Yummy Yummy or a coconut at the Pink Iguana and then stroll the peaceful beach as I watched sea life activity on my way back to La Jungla.

I have to say that I was so impressed with the service of this hotel! Upon our arrival, Abel, the owner, welcomed us as soon as we got off the taxi. He took us to our room and said he was always available for anything. Wow! We got a room with the view to the ocean! The room was simple , two beds , one for one person and another one for two persons. The bathrooms was simple, as well! Do not expect anything luxury, but basic! We stayed 2 nights. They have a kitchen and you have the option to make your own coffee. They offer complimentary water. We had a late boat back to Santa Cruise and Abel was so nice to store our luggage. I have to say that the rooms and bathroom are in need of some upgrades, but overall they were great. They are working on another building in the property, so at the time of our stay it was some construction noise. Other than that , no complaints. The hotel is at the end of the village, yet pretty close just by walking. Not a big deal at all. Plus, the rooms have air conditioner which is a plus.

Very pleasant 2 night stay here. The owner is very helpful and sorted out an incorrect charge so I didn’t have to pay as much. The communal kitchen is basic (cooker, fridge/freezer) but has enough facilities to cook a simple meal. The rooms are simple but comfortable, the bed was comfy, the a/c worked well, and of course you have the lovely view of the beach. My only grumble was on one occasion there was no hot water, but overall it was very good, far enough from the noise of bars and music but close enough to walk to and enjoy. In the morning just as the road turns to head into town, about 50m from the hotel you can watch maybe 100 iguanas cross the road to make their way to the sea

Photos are misleading. Lighting is terrible. Water pressure not so good. The view was good if you stood in the corner on your tip toes. This is not an hotel it’s a mediocre hostel. After dropping my bags in the room, I went and found an alternative. I paid but did not stay.

A little walk from the port but it is quiet place and an excellent location on the beach. The town is not that big so one can walk everywhere. This is an island where it is very hard to find real coffee so ask before you pay a lot of money for Nescafe! The owner was nice to call a taxi the night before but the taxi never came...so if you have some luggage to carry to the port, put it on your back and walk. Don't count on taxis.

This place has great reviews but it is not great. It has a nice view, location ok. Price ok. This is where it ends. Rooms are very small, no place to put a suitcase. Curtains falling off window. We left after one night due to uncomfortable situation. Cannot recommend. But the Island is magical!

This is not an upscale hotel. We had what looked to be termite droppings in the room, and the windows were a bit clouded. Also don't expect good internet. But that said, we would absolutely stay there again. The location, just back from the beach, is amazing. The beach is great for surfing and boogie boarding or just enjoying a soak. It's a very easy walk into town (dodging marine lizards along the way) but far enough away to be absolutely quiet at night. They would also serve breakfast for $5, and there were kitchen facilities to enjoy.
