Camping le Moulin des Iscles

There was little to no staff presence around the campsite except around the reception area to see what was actually going on or to check how people are. We were surrounded by travellers and this was intimidating. One evening about 20+ more travellers arrived for a party and no staff were around, this is very poor to have in the region of 40 travellers for a party and not a staff member available. They gave the gate code to their friends who parked anywhere around our pitch which isn’t acceptable. Again no staff around. They threw their rubbish down the river bank and into the bushes around their tents and spent much time shouting to each other from their tents. This was unpleasant and really unacceptable to be throwing their rubbish into the river. Both the tent next to us and opposite had dogs left in them throughout the day and into the night, this meant constant barking and howling until around 3am. We complained about this and staff did speak to the relevant tents however the people did nothing and just carried on leaving their dogs alone for long periods of time. The campsite itself is lovely but they don’t seem to know what’s going on most of the time with the people staying there and this is not what we have experienced in other flower campings, staff are usually constantly present and going around the campsite to see how things are etc. I think due to the people that were on the site we would not stay here again as I was particularly shocked that they then let travellers with their vans and caravans come onto the site, I know they are as entitled to use the camping but this can make other campers feel anxious and intimidated.

Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The pool was good and the site were upgrading facilities for the summer season. The dishwasher, toilets and showers were clean but dated. 20 minute walk to the historical village which was a lovely surprise. Good velo tracks along the road and forest tracks for mtb
