The Lodge Desado was undoubtedly the highlight of our Chilean adventure. It is located on the edge of Lago Deseado which is almost as far South as you can get in Chile. Its remote location is a large part of its charm and it is very peaceful. For example, it is about 285 km to the nearest reliable petrol source so make sure you have a spare petrol can if you are driving! Our cabin was large and very well appointed on the edge of the lake with great views from the large bedroom window and terrace area. When we arrived we were greeted with a wonderful late afternoon meal which included a large fish/seafood platter, followed by large main course of lamb and dessert. No need for evening meal after that! The food was exceptional throughout our four night stay and how they were able to provide meals of such quality in such a remote location remains a mystery to my wife and I. The main thing to mention was the brilliant team of staff who were extremely friendly and helpful, taking us on walks, drive, cycle rides, and fishing expeditions across the lake in a rib. This Lodge is a piece of remote luxury which is not to be missed if you are exploring Southern Chile.

MY HUSBAND AND I TRAVELED IN PATAGONIA FOR FOUR WEEKS IN NOVEMBER 2024. LODGE DESEADO WAS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO STAY. IT IS VERY ISOLATED. I RIDE AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER AND WAS DELIGHTED TO SEE THE WOODEN BOARDWALK THROUGHOUT THE LODGE GROUNDS. YOU ENTER THE GROUNDS ON THE BOARDWALK ALONGSIDE A ROARING STREAM THAT LEADS TO BEAUTIFUL PRIVATE CABINS THAT HAVE LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS. FROM THE CABIN WINDOWS, YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PRIVATE VIEW OF THE LAKE. THE DINING HALL HAS FLOOR TO CEILING WINDOWS WITH GORGEOUS VIEWS. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT AND PREPARED BY A CHEF ON THE PREMISES. THERE IS A WIDE SELECTION OF FOOD AND DRINK ON THE MENU. IT IS PRESENTED ARTISTICALLY. THE MANAGER OF THE LODGE, JORGE, GAVE US LOTS OF ATTENTION AND ARRANGED A BOAT RIDE WITH ASSISTANTS TO HELP ME GET ON AND OFF THE BOAT. HE HELPED US PLAN OUR DAILY ACTIVITIES. WE HAD TWO PERSONAL GUIDES WHO SPOKE ENGLISH WELL AND WHO ACCOMPANIED US ON ALL OUR EXCURSIONS. WE WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO RETURN TO THIS MAGICAL PLACE TO ENJOY ANOTHER VISIT.

This is an exceptional and unique property like nowhere else we have stayed. The Lodge is situated right on the edge of Lake Deseado with beautiful, warm, cozy cabins decorated with handicrafts and a terrace. Nothing is too much trouble for Jorge and the friendly, young team - From the arrival drink and selection of local Chilean snacks to discussing excursions or even fixing a tyre puncture - you instantly relax and are overwhelmed by the tranquility and stunning vista of the lake and surrounding mountains. The quality of the food provided is extraordinary when you consider how remote the property is. There is a lounge full of books and maps and lots of fantastic Chilean wine and different pisces to enjoy. We rode bikes and hiked locally and embraced the peaceful environment. This is the only lodge on the island - roads are rarely paved and anlways uneven for the 8 hrs it takes from the ferry to get here - completely remote, beautiful lake with 1/2 day hikes in situe. When weather is cold and rainy, staff has to cope with hikers getting nowhere - bring your own projects as you’ll need them! Our trip to navigation to a glacier was canceled due to bad weather - real bummer - wish we had planned to go earlier in our itinerary - 2 nd day. Kayaks for guests would be great! More local trails too. Food has to travel a long way to get here - cont complain but there could be a little more variety. menu was always the same! Need to know more about who has lived here - flora, fauna, people? Why? Guanacos live in these woods cuz there are no pumas! Got a great geology overview from guide - our guy for the 4 days, nacho Great smiles after staying here; warm hospitality. Local owners. Wind delayed our ferry for over 6 hrs - wish we had prepared for this!!

It is located in a remote lake in Tierra del Fuego. Rooms are cozy, very comfortable and quiet. Service is just perfect from check-in on. There are several alternatives of activities guided by very profesional and easy going staff. A special mention is deserved by the food and wine included in our stay, it was by far the best I have ever had anywhere, everything cooked to perfection and a wide selection of excellent wines. It is not cheap, but value far exceeds what you paid for. I will come back for sure and if you are considering a trip to Tierra del Fuego this place is a must.

Un lugar maravilloso, boutique, excelente atención, personalizado. Las cabañas son muy cómodas, la cama es excelente, la vista desde la cabaña al lado del lago y con la bosca encendida da una experiencia inigualable. Por las noches, la luna reflejada en el lago es una experiencia que queda en la retina por siempre. Las comidas muy bien preparadas y variadas, muchas opciones para comer y de acuerdo a todos los gustos. El personal atiende espectacular y tratando de satisfacer las necesidades de todos. En los trecking los guías son de la zona y siempre se mantienen muy preocupados de cada integrante, haciendo de lugares lejanos y de ensueño una experiencia para recordar, viviendo una experiencia envolvente de una naturaleza que te absorbe, vegetación, clima, paisaje y animales. Un pisco sour en medio de un bosque, o un chocolate caliente al momento del descanso.... sin duda un lugar para volver.

Un lugar maravilloso, ubicado en Tierra del Fuego, Chile, a orillas del Lago Deseado. Ideal para pasar unos días con amigos, realizando actividades como trekking, pesca, paseos en bicicleta o simplemente descansar, apreciando las maravillosas vistas que nos ofrece el Lodge. Todo el personal muy atento a cualquier requerimiento o duda y muy cariñoso. Muchas gracias a Jorge, su administrador; Isa, que nos deleitó con sus platos; Cata y Seba, quienes nos acompañaron en todas nuestras aventuras. Caras visibles de un equipo extraordinario de personas que hicieron de nuestro viaje una experiencia que nos dejó con gusto a poco y con ganas de volver.

El lodge deseado esta al nivel de los mejores hoteles del mundo, no solo por estar en un lugar soñado, excelente gastronomia y proveer experiencias y panoramas adaptados a tus gustos y expectativas, sino por el nivel de excelencia de Jorge y todo su equipo, Isa, Sebas, Cami, Cata, Miguel....que van mucho mas de lo esperado. Tuvimos un problema con la camioneta de renting el dia que nos marchabamos y se encargaron de solucionarlo todo el mismo dia para que pudieramos continuar con nuestro viaje, mencionar que se trataba del 1 de Enero. Mil gracias y espero poder visitaros de nuevo.

Extraordinario Lodge al sur de Tierra del Fuego por el lado Chileno, a orillas del Lago Deseado, el mejor lugar para conectar con la naturaleza y los paisajes. Atendidos de maravillas, muy cómodas habitaciones, muy buena comida y tremenda atención. ¡Seguro Volvemos!
