Overseas Chinese Hotel

My boyfriend and I traveled independently to Quanzhou, and choosing this hotel was such a breeze! It's right by Baiyuan Pond in the heart of the ancient city, just a stone's throw from the Confucian Temple. Qingjing Mosque, Guandi Temple, and Tumen Street are all within walking distance. We could even stroll to West Street and Kaiyuan Temple in about fifteen minutes. Plus, the ancient city's 'Little White Car' shuttle stop is right outside, so transportation was never an issue. The hotel, with its vintage four-star charm, is adorned with Southern Fujian red brick and overseas Chinese details, which really appealed to us culture enthusiasts. The lobby features Nanyin opera lanterns, while the corridors display puppets and overseas Chinese correspondence. Even the guest rooms are themed after places like the Confucian Temple and Guandi Temple. From our room, we could actually see the eaves of the Confucian Temple. After a long day of exploring, we'd collapse onto the bed, and with this location and atmosphere, the ancient city vibes were just incredible. This was my second visit to Quanzhou, and I'll definitely be back! (Next time, I'll bring my own clothes though – renting them felt like I kept seeing the same outfits, haha!)

This is a fantastic hotel! I brought my child for a weekend trip to Quanzhou, the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. Even though it's nearby, I never thought about visiting until Quanzhou's culture and tourism repeatedly topped the trending searches. So, I finally came for a short holiday! A friend recommended this hotel, praising its unique decor, warm and attentive service, and convenient location with easy access to everything. **Facilities:** The decor is truly exceptional! It's completely different from any hotel experience I've had before. The lobby, corridors, and rooms are all filled with distinctive Minnan customs and local flavor, brimming with life! **Hygiene:** The lobby is tidy, and most importantly, all the food is wonderfully fresh and clean! It's even better than many Minnan snacks I specifically went out to eat! **Environment:** Downstairs is Wenmiao Street, with its long stone slabs and red brick walls, exuding Quanzhou's ancient and rustic charm. A dazzling array of high-saturation colored buildings and goods fills the streets. My child was excited the whole time and even wrote a weekly journal entry about the hotel's chandelier!

This hotel is truly unique with its folk cultural style. The front desk saw we had a lot of kids and kindly upgraded us to a suite for free, which was fantastic! Both the living room and bedroom were spacious, making it so much easier for the two kids to play around. They gave us two bags of Tieguanyin tea, and the room even had a gaiwan (lidded bowl) for easy brewing. Every day, they also provided a complimentary fruit platter and snacks. And each evening, we received a thermos of a warm dessert – peanut soup on the first night and white fungus soup on the second. It was such a thoughtful and welcoming touch. The pictures really show off the room's decor, which has a strong folk cultural vibe. The entire hotel is just so distinctive. The location is also incredibly convenient, right next to the Confucius Temple, making it easy to get around the ancient city. I highly recommend everyone experiences this hotel!

While the room facilities are a bit dated, the attention to detail and service are exceptional. We received welcome fruits and snacks upon arrival, along with a fruit peeler and a phone charging cable in the room. There was even laundry detergent in the bathroom. In the evenings, they provided a small dessert drink, and children's breakfast was complimentary, with a small cup given as a welcome gift. I accidentally left my foundation behind, and although I offered to pay for shipping, the hotel kindly sent it to me free of charge. Our group of three families was all very satisfied with my choice of hotel. Highly recommended!

Facilities: Daily necessities are all well-stocked. Hygiene: Clean and tidy, no strange odors in the room. Environment: Convenient location, easy access to nearby attractions. Service: Very good service attitude. We received welcome fruits and snacks upon check-in. They also prepared warm dessert soup as a late-night snack every day.

We stayed for 4 nights with elderly parents and children. Although the hotel is an older 4-star with slightly dated facilities, its excellent location and superb service completely make up for it. There are electric golf carts right outside that can take you to the ancient city, and it's a short walk to both the Confucius Temple and Guandi Temple. From the housekeeping staff to the front desk and restaurant personnel, everyone greeted us with a smile and was always ready to help. Every day, our room had thoughtful fruit and snacks, and each evening, we received complimentary desserts, even packed conveniently in a thermos. The breakfast was also very rich and delicious, truly reflecting a 4-star standard. They even had free-flowing cold drinks! We'll definitely stay at Huaqiao Hotel again next time we're in Quanzhou!

The hotel's location is excellent, and free parking is a huge plus. It's super convenient for getting around to all the attractions. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby. The service was fantastic too; they even provided complimentary fruit and afternoon tea every day. Highly recommended! 👍 The breakfast buffet was also extensive, with everything you could wish for.

Overseas Chinese Hotel truly lives up to its reputation as a classic establishment. Its location is excellent, right behind the Confucius Temple, so you can easily walk around and explore nearby. Taking a 'xiaobai car' (tuk-tuk) makes getting to Kaiyuan Temple and Guan Yue Temple very convenient too. You can also rent electric scooters just a short walk from the hotel. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with warm tremella soup, fresh fruit, and a delicious local specialty called Lin's Malao. The staff provided exceptional service; they were very helpful in storing my child's refrigerated medication. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast, which offered a fantastic variety of Quanzhou snacks, including Mianxian paste, beef soup, Jihua cake, and various kinds of ciba (glutinous rice cakes). They even had pour-over coffee! However, being an older hotel, some of the facilities are showing their age and could use an upgrade. For instance, the in-room refrigerator wasn't cooling, and the pillows definitely need replacing. Overall, though, it was a good experience.

The Laopi Hotel is warm and comfortable. They offer fruit and snacks in the morning, a late-night supper, and a rich breakfast. Plus, the comfortable mattresses made everyone exclaim, 'You'll gain three pounds in one day here!' What truly stands out is the genuine smiles and the charming Quanzhou accent with its upward lilt from everyone, from the parking attendant to the busy service staff and managers – it's incredibly refreshing. Finally, thank you for the mysterious little gift!
