The amenities were perfect, and the breakfast was delicious. Most importantly, the comfortable and clean bedroom, complete with an electric bed, meant there was absolutely nothing lacking.

Facilities: Good, it has a kitchen which is convenient for cooking. Hygiene: Clean and comfortable. Environment: Okay, a bit far from the city center. Service: Alright. Price: A bit expensive.

This was the worst hotel we stayed at during our South Island trip, which might be due to its low price. We booked it for one night because it was right across from the Onsen hot springs we had planned to visit. Firstly, I was really unhappy with the cleanliness. Maybe it's because the facilities are old, but the whole room felt dirty, especially the bathroom. The toilet even had issues. Secondly, it got very cold at night, and the heating unit was incredibly noisy. Plus, this was the only hotel on our entire trip that charged a $100 deposit, and it still hasn't been refunded by the end of our trip. When I called the front desk, they said it would take 7 business days, which is completely unreasonable!

Comfortable and quiet

This villa is great for four people, as splitting the cost makes it more cost-effective. It's not in the center of Queenstown and requires a walk uphill to get there. The room itself felt a bit stuffy. However, there's a washing machine and dryer on the second floor. Overall, it was a really good experience. There's a bus stop right outside the door – don't listen to Google Maps telling you to walk over a kilometer, just cross the road right in front of the hotel! New Zealand is beautiful, and you can even go stargazing a short walk from the hotel. The front desk staff, especially one woman, was also fantastic and very helpful.
