After years of traveling across 38 countries, I never thought I'd face such a terrible situation. We set off on our family getaway, armed with a confirmed reservation and a message from this hotel to verify our arrival time. Upon our arrival, we went through a frustrating 40-minute wait while trying to contact Casas Guaney. Eventually, the manager answered our call, found our reservation, and assured us that the keys would be on their way shortly. After making us wait for pretty long, they dropped the bombshell – they COULDN’T ACCOMMODATE us due to a mysterious booking error, despite our prior 100% confirmation! It was supposed to be a special occasion, my husband's birthday, and I'd planned a surprise to make it unforgettable. On top of that, they didn't provide any reason why they couldn't accommodate us. Just said, sorry but you won't stay here tonight. Very impolite and unprofessional! We had been driving for 7 hours from Guanacaste and were exhausted. In a desperate last-minute scramble, we settled for an alternative hotel option nearby, but found ourselves in a sleepless hell due to the noise pollution from the street. Our much-anticipated family retreat was ruined, all thanks to the hotel's unfathomable disregard for its guests. A word of caution: approach this establishment with extreme caution if you value your precious moments and peace of mind!
