2/5 — Decent hardware, abysmal service
The physical property itself is fine — the building, rooms, and facilities are well-maintained and would be perfectly acceptable for a 3-star hotel. Unfortunately, the service is nowhere near what you’d expect from a hotel that positions itself as a 5-star establishment and charges accordingly.
The problems started right at check-in. I had booked a King bed room, but it was only when they handed me the registration form to sign that I noticed they had assigned me a Twin room instead. When I pointed it out, they casually suggested they would “push the two beds together” to make it a King — which is obviously not the same thing at all. The fact that they tried to slip this past me without even mentioning it is unacceptable. It was only after I firmly insisted that I finally got the King bed I had originally booked.
Then there was the pool experience. I went to the pool and there were no towels available, so I called the front desk and was told they would bring some “in a few minutes.” After 45 minutes of waiting — nothing. I called again, and again was told to wait “a few minutes.” After yet another long wait with still no towels in sight, I gave up and walked back to my room soaking wet in my swimsuit.
Breakfast was also disappointing — mostly industrial-quality food with very limited options, again not at all what you’d expect at this price point.
In summary: if this were a mid-range hotel, the hardware would be a pleasant surprise. But for the price they charge and the 5-star image they project, the level of service is simply not there.
