Horrifying and overpriced. Harrassed by bums including kids outside. Ants in room crawled into everyone's bags. Can’t refill water bottle in lobby, because of course they sell it. Bad coffee machine $1.25. No soap bars, wall bottles only. Stinky bed smelled like bodies. Breakfast CONTROL tickets (we were the only ones there) to protect their untoasted, cheapass whitebread ham and gross American cheese sandwich. Good fruit salad at least: pineapple banana, nice soft papaya and edible eggs. I had to beg for a BAD coffee refill. No hot sauce to improve things, they told me to use pepper. Dingy everything in hotel: carpets, stairs, sofa. At least front desk staff was nice. Window in room would not close completely so it was freezing and even rained in, musty smell at all times.

The service in this hotel is very good and friendly! We have enjoyed our stay: good bed, good shower and good laundry service, with a smile! We were helped with restaurant info (do go to "Mercado El Camino" just around the corner), taxi's and good safety advice. Chulla Vida!

The staff are what makes this hotel. They go out of their way to get you smaller change, organize taxis, give you information, etc. The rooms are very clean. I stayed in main building in a couple rooms. you're at the mercy of the people near you in terms of noise. The one room overlooked the outdoor rooftop patio area - those lights were on all night. The bathrooms are incredibly small. but the price was right and it was a good kick-off point for an Ecuador trip.

Had a horrible experience at Hotel Kitu. Didn’t have hot water and had to ask 3 times at the front desk to look into it. Lost 3 hours of vacation due to this. They tried to overcharge my friend to extend check out ($30!) and wouldn’t let her put her bags in my room while we went out for a few hours. Lots of uneven steps almost tripped me. Breakfast was so so but maybe made me sick (I can’t pinpoint if it was the cause). Lots of noise from the traffic.

We spent a night here as part of our G adventures tour. No lifts in the hotel. We found the hotel to be quite safe as they issue you with a card to enter the hotel. had our laundry done a couple of blocks away. Little supermarket right next to the hotel. Good wifi, tea/coffee around the corner from reception. Very helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was good- you choose what option you want. Some of the rooms are quite outdated, but nice and clean and everything works. Our room had a small little balcony too.W e stayed in room number 2.

We spent 5 days here (3 days, stored luggage, t returned for one night, stored luggage again and returned for a final night over 2 weeks). Very nice and attentive staff, beautiful rooms (especially top floor). Good location. Must be willing to walk up several flights of stairs to reach the top floor, but we didn’t mind that. Would definitely return.

Great hotel, close to lots of restaurants and attractions. Staff go over and beyond to help you with anything and everything you need , extra shout out to Nadia and Agusto what an kind hearted souls they are. Breakfast is couple of options you can choose they ask you and it’s delicious. Free coffee tea at front desk also drinking water to fill your bottle at the front desk (bring your refillable bottles ) . We enjoyed our stay!

We spent one night here at the beginning of an 8 day tour and one night at the end. The hotel is budget friendly but the staff are amazing and so helpful. This hotel is very secure as you need a key card to enter through two locked gates to get into the hotel. The lobby has a very comfortable sitting area with a large couch. Our group spent some time socializing here while drinking tea, coffee, or beer. You can purchase beer and wine from the front desk as well. The rooms were very comfortable. Some require a bit of maintenance and upkeep but overall they were great. Especially for the price. I had a very early morning flight so I checked out of the hotel at 1AM and they gave me a better rate for the night. The restaurant next door that serves breakfast was very cheap as well. $3.50USD for lunch. The rooftop patio is a nice touch. Although, it could use a few more chairs and tables as it filled up quickly with two groups being at the hotel. I can't stress enough how friendly and helpful the staff were at this hotel. We appreciated all of their help with everything. I would suggest taking taxi's everywhere as they are very cheap and safe. The hotel staff will call a taxi for you.
