My recent stay at FENCIA RIVERSIDE RESORT was nothing short of a complete disaster. From the moment we arrived, it became clear that this hotel has no idea how to treat guests or maintain even the most basic standards. Let me walk you through the horror story that was our stay. Staff Attitude and Lack of Soft Skills Upon arrival, we were greeted with nothing but indifference. The staff acted as if they were doing us a favor by checking us in. Their attitude was cold, dismissive, and lacked any semblance of hospitality. No smiles, no welcoming gestures—just blank stares and an attitude of "we don’t care." Throughout the stay, it became apparent that the staff either had no training or simply didn’t care to be helpful. When we raised concerns or asked for basic information, they were rude and unhelpful. Every interaction left us feeling like we were a burden to them. They clearly lacked soft skills essential for the hospitality industry, making our experience even more unpleasant. Electricity Fluctuations: A Night of Torture One of the biggest issues was the constant electricity fluctuations. It was as if the hotel was powered by a flickering candle. Every hour, the power would go out, sometimes for several minutes, especially during the night. Trying to sleep with the AC shutting off repeatedly was impossible. We spent hours tossing and turning in a stuffy room, drenched in sweat. We complained to the front desk multiple times, but they brushed it off as a "local issue," refusing to acknowledge how disruptive it was. The lack of accountability was infuriating. Overpriced, Subpar Food The food prices at the hotel were outrageous for what was served. You'd expect gourmet dishes for the rates they charged, but what we got was far from that. The meals were bland, poorly cooked, and in no way matched the hotel's supposed standards. I’ve had better meals at street vendors than what we were served here. Pathetic Guest Handling Skills The hotel’s guest handling skills were abysmal. Requests for basic services, such as extra towels or room cleaning, were either ignored or delayed for hours. The hotel management seemed completely uninterested in ensuring that guests had a comfortable stay. The Worst of All: Mr. Abhijeet Bose If there’s one person who encapsulated the chaos and incompetence of this hotel, it’s Mr. Abhijeet Bose. This ***, supposedly in charge of the hotel, was the epitome of indifference. Despite our repeated complaints and requests to speak with him, his team acted like everything was fine and didn’t bother to address any of the issues. He couldn’t care less about how his hotel was run or about the experience of his guests. It's shocking that someone with such a lackadaisical attitude is responsible for managing a hotel. Final Thoughts In short, staying at FENCIA RIVERSIDE RESORT was a nightmare. From terrible staff attitudes, constant power issues, overpriced food, and a general lack of guest care, it was a complete disaster

Starting with a positive, the staff were lovely. Happy to try and help, did their jobs well and were kind and polite. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. House keeping was offered daily including bedding change and refilling bottled water. The 'bones' of the hotel are good (comfy beds, decent pillows, good size bath etc) but it has been neglected. The rooms are a good size. The mirrors all have the surface coming away, the internet is poor so the smart TVs don't really work and there are no other channels. The bedding was stained including when it was changed during cleaning and is obviously very old. The window sills were dirty, the bath was dirty, the drawers were all dusty inside and under the pillows the gap behind the bed was dusty bare concrete. The plugs were coming away from the walls, there were no hangers to hang clothes in the wardrobe (which was in the bathroom), the towels were stained. There was a net curtain and light blocking curtains, both sets were musty and dirty to the point I had to wash my hands after opening and closing the. There was a spare mattress kept outside on the porch, during monsoon season. I have stayed in many lower budget hotels but I really didn't want to touch anything in the room and didn't even unpack my bag properly. My son stayed in a separate room and his was the same. There was an overwhelming smell of I'm assuming napthalene balls and mosquito repellant, it lingered the whole time we were there and mosquitos were still in the room despite the plug-in. Breakfast was fine, buffet style - limited options and I would have liked more Child-friendly fresh options but that's personal choice more than a complaint. I don't consider potato smiles and chicken nuggets a breakfast food and would have liked some chopped fruits or healthier cereal type foods for our two year old. Other options included sambar and idli (the idli tasted very sour, and I've eaten a lot of Indian food being married to one), boiled eggs, chicken sausages, donuts and cakes, toast, a veg Indian option that seemed to change daily such as poha or pongal, potato wedges and room temperature fruit juice which was different every day. There were some additional things you could order, some they didn't have available. Staff were prompt to help and prepare things if you asked and they had it. The on-site restaurant food was again fine, but a few things we tried to order they didn't have and it was expensive compared to the usually very reasonably priced local indian food (our food was 6000INR approx and the next day we ate somewhere else for 2300INR for more food) but I would expect to pay a premium for convenience. The pool we probably wouldn't have used as it's monsoon season but it was filthy, as was the glass fencing on the deck where the pool was. The drinks were nice. Food service didn't start until 7 and took a long time to be ready, by which time our 2 year old was struggling and it really wasn't a safe space to have her wandering to ke

To be very honest,I was confused once I saw some bad reviews on this forum.Cleanliness and proper service is must for me and my family. But once I reached there,I found a different world altogether. Good place, spacious rooms and clean & tidy rooms.Yes,as it was raining hard, there was a delay in the service of my dinner at room but that can be taken into consideration as it was a heavy rain. But liked the food and specially the Tandoor items.Breakfast is too good with a good spread. They were renovating the property and I promised their Receptionist -Sumalyo(a boy with a lot of smile on his face) to visit again during Jan 2025 My suggestion to all travellers- JUST GO THERE AND ENJOY !

Horrible experience. Please save your money and don't go here. This property is not maintained well. We were given a wrong room first while i booked for a suite. The suite was horrible , the bathtub was dirty , the common area smelled horrible , ac wasn't working , tv wasn't working, bed sheets were dirty, the private dip pool was disgusting . When i called the reception for help , they said they will check it and didn't get back to me . I had to go to the reception and speak to them then , after a lot of confusion they finally fixed the room. We even tried thier pool which was no diff from the rest of the place, the water was very dirty and toooo much chlorine. The breakfast buffet was the worse . This was a huge waste of my money and energy. Please do not book here !!!
