Dar Shaan

Everything was excellent. We enjoyed our stay at Dar Shaan very much. It is really a nice place arranged in Moroccan style with a modern touch. The rooms are spacious and quiet equipped with all modern facilities (Wi Fi, safe, air conditioning, etc.). Even there is a lift in the house. We were like at home: in our disposition was inner courtyard with drawing rooms around it on the ground floor, as well as sitting places on upper floors and rooftop terrace with a pool, sun beds and comfortable sitting places to relax. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of Dar Shaan is very convenient. It is located in Medina, just a few minutes to the ocean and Kasbah of Udayas.

We stayed one night in Rabat in this very elegant riad located at the entrance to the medina near the Kasbah of Rabat that is exceptionally beautiful to visit, sits along the coast and offers fabulous views. I hadn’t realized that within it are also residences. The riad’s location is excellent with easy access to the medina, the boardwalk and the kasbah. Communications with the staff was seamless and the riad has an elevator to access upper floors, with the rooftop pool and terrace offering lovely views. It is well-appointed with quality materials throughout and comfortable bed. As with many riads they offer meals – our flight was too early to enjoy breakfast but dinner was tasty. They were really nice in providing us coffee in the room for the morning of our very early departure. Coordinating transport to the airport in Casablanca (3.45am) was seamless and timely. What a wonderful, beautiful and friendly Riad! Recently opened, this small (approx 10 rooms) hotel is on the edge of the Medina and close to the Kasbah. Rooms are very comfortable, diligently clean and the staff extend the Moroccan hospitality in abundance. The pool is cute, secluded, and the adjacent balconies offer rooftop views of the medina and (impressive to this foreign traveller) - offer a dramatic stage for hearing the call to prayer. The breakfast is plentiful, and if requested in advance they can offer a lunch and / or dinner. The food is great, the ambiance relaxed and gorgeous decor / architecture.

Beautiful, stunning, tranquil, traditional with a modern twist Riad! Absolutely loved this gem of place…everything about our stay was perfect. Ayub and Amen were such lovely, friendly, patient and helpful staff. We made use of the pool and roof top terrace everyday and the breakfast/dinner we had was just delicious! I would 100% recommend this accommodation in Rabat in a fantastic central location! Can’t wait to visit again! Thank you Dar Shaan! ❤️

This hotel was wonderful. The staff was amazing, especially Ayoub, who made a reservation for our group of 8 for dinner and gave us a walking tour of the area as he directed us to the restaurant. Loved the view from the rooftop patio.

I spent one night here in a single first floor. Nicely appointed room and comfortable bed. Modern bath with all expected amenities. Gracious hospitality; lovely place and nice restaurant. Couldn’t ask for a nicer spot in Rabat.

We stayed here one night at the start of our two-week tour of Morocco. This place was fine, but not nearly as nice as some places we stayed subsequently. There is definitely a difference between a Dar and a Riad. Dara are significantly smaller. I found this accommodation somewhat claustrophobic. Also, our bedding consisted of a duvet which was way too hot when a sheet would have done the trick. It is certainly a nice dar. But don’t expect more than that.
