RAAS Devigarh

I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a smooth check-in process. The room was clean and well-maintained, with comfortable furnishings. However, the Wi-Fi connection was a bit spotty at times. The hotel's location was convenient, close to various attractions. The on-site amenities, like the fitness center and restaurant, added to the overall positive impression. Despite minor issues, I would consider staying here again.

Yet another Raas gem. Devigarh has been fabulously restored in a small village near Udaipur. An absolute delight to hang around their pool or at the bar or the ***y nooks around the palace. Service by every staff member was fantastic, specially the wait staff at the restaurants. The food was also very good. Every meal we ate was top notch. Our suite however felt a bit dated and cold. But besides the room, everything at the Raas Devigarh was very good

One of the most amazing hotels we’ve ever stayed in. This fort / palace traces its origins back 450 years and the restoration has preserved all the original architecture and history whilst providing an exquisite 5 star hotel experience. The service is impeccable and the staff are always friendly. There are wonderful views across the mountains that you can enjoy. And the hotel has its own cocktails that are made for you by expert mixologists using ingredients from the garden. There are ***y ‘hidden’ courtyards and places to relax on different levels, as well as a wonderful pool area, and as the hotel has only 34 rooms you often feel like you have the place to yourself. Don’t bother staying in one of the big impersonal chain hotels on Lake Pichola - stay here and take the hotel car to Udaipur to do the tours. You won’t be disappointed.

Now, this is a palace! The conversion from a palace to a hotel took a long time, there was lots of rubble. But it was worth it, such a magical place, so ***y beautiful space to explore. A stategic setting on the hill top above the village of Delwara. walking in the gates you know you are in a very special place. The views are amazing across the village and the surrounding hills. Room 36 had to be THE best room in the palace. A large corner room with a private patio and fountain, spacious entry way, beautifl room with lots of windows and a small balcony, huge tub area, large counter space and views everywhere. I could stay here a while. Very comfy bed. the only disadvantage was the 5 am call to prays, but we close the windows the next night. Pool area, bar and dining were excellent. I highly recommnd taking the place tour, it gives you the idea of how big the palace is, the restoration project, and all the nooks and crannies. The old art work is spectacular. Explore the colorful villge of Delwara, street markets, water pump, temples and smiling faces.

Perched in the Aravalli hills, this historic palace hotel is peaceful haven. The service and food at RAAS Devigarh are impeccable. Wander its sprawling property and feel transported to the 18th century. Just outside the hotel entrance is a short road leading to the charming village of Delwara, which is perfect for a stroll and taking in local culture. Highly recommended.

Raas Devigarh is a true oasis of luxury and tranquility in Udaipur. From the stunning architecture to the impeccable service, every aspect of this palace hotel is exceptional. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the dining is exquisite, and the spa is heavenly. A must-visit destination for anyone seeking a magical escape.

Overall a wonderful 5 star experience. Lovely staff, beautiful architecture and stunning views over the hills and mountains. We booked this as a couple to give ourselves a break from the cities and have some us time. Spa and restaurant staff are lovely and welcoming. Rooms are gorgeous and have wonderful stone baths. Housekeeping is thorough and rooms are kept immaculate. Gardens and wildlife are beautiful, loves seeing all the birds and bats as well as meeting the house tortoises. A few tiny negative points which detracted from a full five star award: - we are non smokers and I have a mild allergy to tobacco. Our room constantly smelled of cigarettes, we couldn't tell if that's because the previous occupants were heavy smokers or the guests beside us were heavy smokers (the people next to us were always smoking in their porch which if course is right next to our porch). But it did cause me to have a bad cough whilst in the room. We also noted that some of the private dining areas also smelled strongly of cigarettes which put us off making a booking to use them. I did ask for a non smoking room away from smokers as part of my booking. It just wasn't a nice experience. Perhaps guests in the garden suites who are non smoking could be on one side and smokers on the other - this would alleviate future issues. - very loud club or house style music pumped out around 1pm, which if you are trying to have a nice lunch or hang by the pool is rather distracting, I have no idea why this kept happening during our stay, but we didn't enjoy it. Food and other paid services have a heavy government / service tax added to them, which I suppose is fair enough, but the food is expensive for what it is to start with. Expect a two course meal without any wine to set you back £45pp which is pretty high for what it is. It would be easier for the menu to reflect the price inclusive of tax so you get a better idea on prices.

Oh this hotel! I want to return again and again. It is perfect in every way. We had a beautiful spacious room in the fort with a huge bathroom and separate dining and dressing areas. There are so ***y beautiful parts of the hotel to enjoy, we particularly enjoyed playing scrabble while having tea on the terrace with the stunning mountain views. Like home from home, if home was a palace! The pool is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed a tour of the local village that was fascinating and I had a wonderful bike ride where I had the privilege of being invited into a classic Rajisthani rural home. But that absolute highlight of our stay was the food. One dish was so delicious my husband had it three nights in a row! For me the naan is the best I have ever had, fluffy in the centre with deliciously charred edges. Breakfast too is exceptional. By the far the best we had over two weeks in India. In particular the rose granola. Nothing is corporate, no buffets, everything freshly prepared to order and cooked perfectly. Finally, the staff - all are warm and friendly, I could name several but Subhash looked after us at every meal quickly learning our quirky preferences. This is the third Raas property I have had the privilege to enjoy and I now want to build a whole India itinerary just staying at Raas hotels.

Spent new years eve and the first week of 2024 at this amazing hotel with my family. From the moment we arrived the staff treated us amazingly and helped with everything. The staff at mealtimes were very helpful and catered for our young son. Plus the food menu was amazing. So much choice. Big thanks to Subhash in the restaurant. He was very friendly and really looked after our son so that we could enjoy meals. Finally the private dinner options are a must. Great locations and every detail catered for.
