Nice quiet location, walking distance to the dolphin lookout. Big sun decks on each cottage, good sized cottages, firm mattress. Free bicycles. Owners are lovely and readily make dinner reservations at nearby restaurants. Both breakfast and dinner (dinner is extra $) are fresh and tasty and in good quantity. No A/C, but close to ocean and fans do the trick. Walking distance to 2 stores and 2 great restaurants (Lilly's and Chez Josephine). Unfortunately the paint is peeling severely both inside and outside. Rooms need to be swept daily to keep the mess to a minimum. Gives the place a very sad and worn appearance-- which is a shame because it's otherwise very lovely.

We spent 5 nights at Va'a i te Moana and it was lovely. Very big, clean and modern bungalows, super delicious, fresh breakfast and dinner, gracious hosts, bicycles which we were allowed to use at any time and are perfect for exploring the island, perfectly located near the Tiputa pass and the village, very helpful in arranging Excursions etc. Thank you very much for everything, we can highly recommend you and wish you all the best! Awesome Place for the adventure traveler.Stayed in one of the Cabana's...RangiRoa is a place of incredible Beauty and tranquility...Magical Really.Not for the Party Hipster or Bora Bora crowd but for those that want to experience the "island life" with No Crime-Stop Lights or even a TV.Please be kind to the Locals and all the staff at the Va te Moana...And enjoy the Beauty of this special place

I rated it average because we received a warm welcome and the employees were so nice that I couldn't rate it mediocre. We stayed for a week. We had a bungalow with windows without mosquito nets that were rusty and stuck with no way of closing them. Needless to say, the mosquitoes had a field day with us. And what had to happen, happened. I caught dengue fever the day we left and I was sick like I've rarely been in my life. A month and a half later I still have after-effects and I can tell you that it ruined the last 15 days of my stay. I went to see the guesthouse's website and the welcome provided by the family as advertised on the website is not at all what we experienced. We never saw the owners who should be a little more worried about the deterioration of their accommodation. I want to say again that the employees were impeccable and as kind as we encountered throughout our trip to Polynesia, but they do what they can and it is clear that there is a flagrant disinterest from the owners for their business.

We are in love with the VAA I TE MOANA guesthouse in RANGIROA. A superb guesthouse to stay in. Warm welcome from all the members of the guesthouse. Superb bedding, magical cleanliness, perfect hot water and water pressure. The bungalow space is great, it is fully equipped. Thank you Rosie for your efficiency and your efforts to make us satisfied. There is so much to discover about this guesthouse that I recommend it to you.

The bungalow requires maintenance in the bathroom, leaking toilet and kitchen equipment and refrigerator to be changed. Cleaning of the French windows and rails to be done... there is still pasta in it. Furniture, wobbly garden table. Balanced with paper?!!? In the middle of nothing. Impossible to eat tonight, we should have booked before 11am but our plane had not arrived. Nothing open this afternoon around. Poorly maintained wild grass grows everywhere. Nothing to do in this pension. No air conditioning and fans who do as they please. Not even a bottle of water in the fridge. A borderline reception at the airport. The two points are for the very nice receptionist who found us a solution for dinner, the cleanliness of the accommodation and the WIFI.
