Late booking for Scafell Pike trip. Helpful staff on phone to accommodate our late arrival. Good breakfast. Room perfectly fine for our one night stay. Very good price.

After climbing the scafell pike, we went straight to this hotel. The staffs were really kind especially to the old man. You can really see the passion in his work . The hotel was amazing because it’s clean and well maintained. They also have a restaurant so you don’t have to go outside to look for a food which is really inconvenient idea for those who are tired from climbing. I guess we tried to book for an uber eats, deliveroo etc but they don’t have it in that area. The food was great and they have a free breakfast as well.

We had a great overnight stay in a quiet room at the front of the hotel. I assume it was a refurbishment as everything looked and felt new. The bed and the pillows were extremely soft and added to making a quality sleep. There was plenty of tea coffee, milk and biscuits in the room which was great. The bathroom and shower with added toiletries was a bonus but a shelf in the bathroom would have been useful. The towels are very fluffy and thick. Breakfast should not be missed, fresh orange juice, cereals and a variety of cooked breakfast on offer with fresh coffee and tea. We had a great stay and wished we had booked for longer. Thank you to all the staff on their welcome and professionalism.

We had an incredible stay at the Kellbank we stayed on the 1st July 2025 for 1 night. We arrived at 9pm and left by 5am as we were staying to climb Scafell Pike. We wish we was in the room longer rather then just a sleep stop as the room was big, telly and fridge included. The shower was really warm (in a good way) the beds were comfortable, no noise from the pub was heard. The check in was easy later in the day and the lady who checked us in was great. We said we wouldn’t be there for breakfast with an early hiking start so she said to take cereal boxes with us, got us fresh fruit and yogurts to keep in the room and also crisps for later on the mountain for our hike. We were gutted we missed dinner as the restaurant and menu looked really good. When we hike Scafell pike again this is where we will stay. 26 mins away but due to the country roads it’s perfect as it’s one of the closest villages to the hike. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place to stay. Staff all really helpful and nice especially the gentleman who served breakfast, The room was lovely and clean. We ate there on 2 of the nights would recommend booking as it gets really busy. The food was lovely. I would recommend going to st bees about a 20mins drive away .stunning beach. Will definitely return

Stunning views - left the curtains open to watch the sunset and sunrise Room was comfy and clean - great nights sleep in a lovely bed. Clare really welcoming and made a lovely breakfast Farm surprisingly quiet Good location - gosforth and seascale are lovely Have electric car - chargers in Whitehaven not too far away Would recommend

The original room was next to the kitchen exit on the ground floor, with a view of the exit, which did not lend itself to privacy. The hotel did allow us to move to the room above, however we could hear staff conversing loudly at 1030pm which we felt was very inconsiderate. The hairdryer broke instantly when I tried to use it and the bathroom door did not lock. I've given the hotel 2 stars on the basis of the breakfast offering only and sadly would not recommend couples to stay here.

I stayed at Kellbank Hotel with friends, we all loved staying here. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. A great example of Cumbrian hospitality. We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay and enjoyed all our evening meals. There was plenty of choice at breakfast time and provided a good start to the day playing golf at a local course. The rooms and all the communal areas were spotless. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We had such a lovely meal at The Kellbank! They were kind enough to fit 11 of us in with only a few hours notice. The food was delicious and they have a great selection of drinks. We were too full for a pudding but they looked incredible. The best thing about the place is the staff, however. They were so friendly and welcoming, especially the fantastic chap behind the bar who has been there for 14 years - I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name but it was also his excellent welcome last year that made us return this year, even though we were staying a 15min drive away.
