5.0 Food quality was perfect with a nice big size portion and very well sourced meats and vegetables. 5.0 Service was excellent and very well mannered and also very approachable and freindly especially whet making adjustments to the order. 5.0 Environment was very comforting, exceptional and homely with a great amount of effort into the environment and decoration. 4.7 was better than most places I be been to.

Trying to review restaurant only as did not stay over Suited my friends as they enjoy the charm and tasteful decor - singer also which was a lovely surprise. Possibly the best we could have gotten in the area but feel I need to comment that even though the Sunday roast lamb was tasty and enough with 4 slices; the veg consisted of 3 half inch strips of spring cabbage and a tiny roasted carrot, tiny roasted parsnip and one or two small roast potatoes. The plate is stacked and 2/3 filled (not sure why the space is left on the plate ). Not sure what the aversion to vegetables is about- I did comment and ask for more but not allowed. The crumbles my friends had, they said were delicious. I’m bemused by the kebab pudding. The marshmallows, strawberries and brownies were skewered and on the plate base is a cold oatcake. Now my birth town is Stoke on Trent and this looked and tasted like a pottery oatcake. These are warmed or toasted and eaten with bacon or cheese- certainly not eaten cold 🤢😂- won’t harm you but not that pleasant. Possibly the chef isn’t able to make crepes 🤷‍♀️…..ask the master chef 24 who has his photo on the wall !

Booked 2 rooms at the Kings Head as we were attending a wedding nearby. We needed to be at the wedding for midday and arrived at the Kings Head at around 11am. We asked if we could just leave our bags as we wouldn’t be back until very late. We were informed that one of the rooms was ready and we could have the keys, then we were told the other was ready so we were really pleased that they were so accommodating. On check-out we were caught up in conversation with the guy checking us out and so were not concentrating on what we were being charged. On checking our credit card bill on return we found that we had been overcharged so I contacted the venue and we were informed that because we checked in early they charge £25 per room. At no point was this charge mentioned and we did not request this service. Charlotte said that she had had to bring in staff early to get the rooms ready, I pointed out that we had not requested this service or let them know that we would be arriving early so why would they have brought staff in early, we just thought they were being accommodating as the rooms were ready. To date I have had no response, apology or refund for this hidden overcharge. Totally spoilt the stay.

This is a little gem - tucked away in a lovely tranquil spot. I had the best nights sleep, the mattress is amazing. Bedding, towels and bathroom were all 5 star. Food was excellent and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend !

Without doubt THE best pub with accommodation in the country. So glad we have found this pub as it’s a the perfect stopover when looking for somewhere near the M6 but also fantastic location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and it’s so peaceful. If you want to bring your dog then they’re welcome too. Kenni and staff are all so welcoming and are perfect hosts. It has such a lovely, cosy atmosphere. You can either sit and relax in the bar area next to the roaring fire or the dining area is also lovely with its beautiful decor and flagstone floors. The food is delicious and breakfast is 10/10. The bedrooms are a good size and I had one of my best nights sleep. The rooms have everything you need including disposable toothbrush/toothpaste should you forget yours. We have recommended The Kingshead to many people and can’t wait to return. Hopefully very soon

We booked a table based on a recommendation from a neighbour during our stay in Heggerscales. The Kings Head did not disappoint!! Even on a rainy Thursday evening Ravenstonedale is so picturesque, the pub beautifully lit outside and so welcoming when walking in., it feels like walking into a friends house. The decor is beautiful with soft ambient lighting, the staff were so busy but so very attentive, welcoming, friendly and could not do enough for us. Something for everyone on the menu, and we had no complaints at all - the rack of lamb, wainwrights ham and pizza where all delicious and the desserts were equally excellent. Amazing local beer Red Squirrel is a must when visiting also. Thank you for a lovely evening to end our break, we will. Definitely be back! :)

I had a booking for a 25 person meal last Sunday. From the off the owner was super accommodating and friendly. The pub had a lovely, relaxing atmosphere and was very warm and inviting. From my experience, usually with a large group booking at least one meal mix up occurs and the food often arrives slowly and /or cold. I couldn't fault the service we received. Everything came as ordered and everybody ate at the same time. The food was great. Dogs were welcome. My family commented on the friendly chats they had with the owner. This meal really topped off our trip and I would like to thank all the staff. We would absolutely revisit if we came back to the area.

We stayed at The Kings Head for 2 nights last weekend. We had a lovely time. The room was lovely and spacious. The food was lovely and the staff were all really friendly. We also liked the little added touches such as access to extra tea, coffee and milk, the fruit bowl on the landing, the sewing kit and shoe polish kit. Also enjoyed the games room, more so because I won at darts🤣.
