I’m terrible at writing reviews so here is a list of my pros and cons: + Amazing staff, everybody was very nice, especially Christos at the main restaurant + Rooms were very clean and well equipped + We found the buffet dinner great, and didn’t get bored of it even though we stayed for two weeks + We loved having some sort of entertainment at the pool bar every evening + Amazing pools and facilities + Dinner at Almyra was superb - Meals at Kritamo were a tad too big and we expected something more - Dress code at dinner was definitely not followed by everyone: felt a bit funny dressing up to sit at dinner near someone wearing jean shorts and a cap - Some guests definitely did not look even older than 16: we found it slightly awkward sharing a terrace with a parent and her kids whilst on a romantic holiday Overall we had a great experience and will be returning again next summer!

Lovely new 5* hotel on eastern outskirts of Rethymno centre. Our room had sea view and jacuzzi with extremely comfortable beds. Food was very good perhaps repetitive if staying for 2 weeks but was all very high quality in beautiful outside restaurant overlooking the beach. The hotel staff were very attentive and friendly. Upon arrival our cases were taken to our room and we were offered complimentary drink whilst our passports were logged and room keys sorted. Rooms all have smart TVs and wifi. Pool and beach beds very comfortable with deep padding and drinks and food delivered to your sunbed via hotel App. Overall hotel had a quality feel, great facilities, nice food and drink and friendly staff. Beach does have some large underwater rocks that hinder access to the sea. I’d certainly recommend but would like to offer some areas that require attention:- there are insufficient sunbeds around the pool for the volume of guests, so often had to get a bed on the beach but these were very crowded next to each other. There is grass space near the pool they could be used accommodate sunbeds during peak times. Evening entertainment is very low key and consisted of solo guitarist or keyboard players- very soothing but don’t go here if want lively entertainment and there are not many lively bars outside the hotel. We caught bus into Rethymnon couple of nights (€1.20 each) which has great old town and port and lots of bars and restaurants- taxi back was €15. My only other moan is that we had to vacate room at 11am on final day but coach didn’t collect us until 7pm. Hotel couldn’t extend the room so had to use gym showers which was okay but this was not a 5* experience on last day! Finally wifi isn’t great on the beach beds had to use 4G data - needs sorting please

Just returned from a 12 day stay at this hotel. This is the best 5 star hotel we have stayed at in Greece in terms of service, staff were extremely efficient and showed a genuine interest in ensuring you had everything you needed for an enjoyable holiday. We were always served very promptly in the bars and restaurants and plates were cleared away in a timely fashion. The whole hotel is shiny and new and clean! The rooms were lovely with separate toilet, iron and ironing board and a ceiling fan which cooled the room down perfectly and was not noisy. We had a seafront room and went to sleep listening to the sea. Ate at one of the Al A Carte restaurants one night and had lovely fresh fish with a view of the sea and sunset. Entertainment was low key which was fine by us, got the bus into Rethymno a couple of times, a lovely bustling place. Took a trip to Chania and Lake Kournas both beautiful and worth doing. I agree there is a lacking of sunbeds by the pool but plenty by the beach depending upon your preference. We are early risers and always managed to get a bed by the pool. Do not reserve beds with towels before breakfast as your belongings will be removed! Overall a very well run hotel, the staff work very hard and we had a fabulous time.

We’ve just returned from an amazing holiday in Crete. The Amira is a beautiful hotel and we had a wonderful time. Check in was smooth and we were greeted with welcome drinks and fruit, as we arrived later in the evening and had booked half board we were able us to have dinner before starting the full check in process - much appreciated after a long day of travelling The hotel was beautiful and we were upgraded to a pool facing suite, everything was spotlessly clean and all the staff were friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond to help guests. The breakfast and dinner was buffet style and we enjoyed this, there was a variety of options and themed nights - with buffet style food it will never be exceptional but it was good enough. As a fussier person I was happy with the selection and loved the desserts. They had a few a La carte restaurants too but we didn’t try these in the end. We had lunch at the pool bar most days and this was lovely too - food and drinks are more pricey in the hotel verses outside of it but that’s been my experience for most places. The entertainment was quite chilled, live music most nights and a DJ on Wednesday evening , this was a good laugh and got people dancing. The location is good, when you come out of the hotel and turn right there are a selection of mini Marts, restaurants and bars. However the more lively part is the Old town - Rethmynon , a 10 min taxi ride and this was between €14-€16 euros. I believe you can also get a bus. Here they had lots of shops, bars , restaurants - and lovely for a explore in the evenings. All in all we’d definitely return one day but have som useful feedback that would have made our stay even better: 1) the pool was really cold despite 28+ degree weather, would have been lovely to have warmer water to swim in 2) the wifi was slow and could do with a upgrade 3) The shower room by the indoor pool really needs a lock on the door, so you can feel at ease when using the facilities. 4) The coffee at breakfast wasn’t great , as coffee lovers this was important to us so we were a little disappointed 5) the dress code for dinner is a little hit and miss - my partner couldn’t wear smart sandals but some guests were wearing baseball caps doesn’t really align to being formal

We loved our stay at Amira, we are full of joy after ouer visit there.

The sea and the sunset very close to the hotell is magic. To be so close to the sea is energizing and it is also true it gives you serenity.

The staff are very serviceminded, happy and proffesionell. It really feels like they care about their guests. They are also able to compensate for mistakes.

The breakfast and dinner is very good, lots of alternativs and healthy food, even for vegetarians.

*We have one night left of our 5 night stay (not long enough!!) but I’m writing it now as I suspect I will run out of time once I’m back home and I really want people to know how amazing this place is and how lucky you’d be to visit! Having recently opened and no reviews to read before arriving, I was a little apprehensive but from the second we arrived at Amira, we knew we’d struck gold. First, everything is of course BRAND NEW and absolutely BEAUTIFUL. So much attention has gone in the the detailing of this hotel. It’s beautiful clean, tidy and it’s neutral tones give everything that luxury feel to it. They’ve thought of everything down to comfy and long beach towels to a variety of high quality plastic glasses shaped for different cocktails to enjoy by the pool. We arrived at about 1am as our flight was delayed, we were greeted with some welcome drinks and a cool towel which was much needed! They’d even thought to put a complimentary dinner/snack in our room in case we hadn’t eaten which we thought was very kind. Granted, there are one or two finishing touches happening but not one of these impacted us negatively nor were we ever disturbed by any noise for maintenance or Construction. They are just quietly getting on with these bits. I personally think it’s understandable with the way of the world at the moment and many delays to products I am sure would have been out of the hotel’s control. Our room was 465 which was a sea view and you could watch the sun setting beautifully from the balcony. The lower levels have swim up rooms which look beautiful. I’d like to try one of those next time (yes, it was that good I want to return!). Not all rooms have a sea view although I think the majority must do so if you want it then make sure you request it. If you like the pool and the beach then you have the option of both with the beach being just steps away. By the pool has a lovely snack bar serving really good bar snacks and lunches throughout the day. You can enjoy these in the bar itself or at your sun beds. I’d highly recommend the Greek salad. The pool is stunning. It’s a great size and swings right round in to the most beautiful infinity pool which the sun also sets in to if your hang around long enough in to the evening. Chilled music is played throughout the day. Food wise, currently there are three eateries. I’m not sure if there are plans for more or not. The breakfast buffet is varied and changes daily there is absolutely something for everyone. It’s well presented and really tasty. This is where the evening dinner buffet is which is included in half board. I’ve talked about the pool snack bar and then there is a well placed restaurant overlooking the sea and the sunset. As a guest you get about 30% off here. The food here was pretty impeccable. Huge portions though so be careful! If you like squid then the grilled squid starter is one of the best we’ve ever had! On site there is a new fitness suite and a beautiful spa with a vari

Amira luxury resort is a beautiful resort just outside of Rethymno city. The resort just opened i May 2022, and already the hotel and the staff are so perfectly welcoming and lovely that it is hard to describe. The resort itself is so beautiful and cozy, and it has everything! Great wine, amazing food and with a full spa in addition to a gym with everything you might need. I tried two different treatments in the spa, an amazingly professional pedicure and a body treatment i was recommended for my sunburned skin, which helped immensly. The towels are the best ever, and there are waterfall-showers in the rooms, I struggle to find anything that could be better, which is why i'm already planning my next visit. Ps, if you don't have a room with seaview, i recommend going to see the amazing sunset from the pool
