Four of us stayed in the Hekla dome that includes two beds, hot tub & private bath. It was awesome! The guests that slept in the bed by the fireplace were cold throughout the night when the fire went out (the warmth of the heater seemed to be directed up, not down at the bed), but the two of us in the upstairs bed were nice & warm all night. The beds were so comfy, hot tub was fun, place was clean & the entire experience was awesome/one of a kind! The staff were nice and super helpful too!

Don't waste your money! It's an overpriced tent and the amenities are seriously lacking. Set on top of an old landfill (we were informed by the locals) with zero protection from the elements. We had an absolutely terrible stay! The managers/owners of the property do not care one bit if you are unsatisfied and will ignore your emails once you contact them. A lot of money spent for a truly bad experience! Instead, I'd recommend Hotel Ranga, our stay there was beyond amazing, unlike the domes!

Absolutely horrible… I booked this for my 5 year with my girl and bought their most expensive add on. I didn’t receive this. I got something else entirely. Truly ruined my surprise experience for how long we’ve been together. The people on the property are 0 help and just laughed when I told them the problem. I then called all 3 numbers multiple times to end up with a soccer mom on a trip to deal with the situation.. I called back after a bit and she said our actual package was on the way… yet we still didn’t receive everything stated in the $205 package… absolutely atrocious communication between the hosts and I would never book this if I were you. They let us down on a very special moment.. and I wouldn’t put it past them to get as much money out of anyone who books this experience. Stay away at all costs… additionally one of the panels under the sink and fridge were broken and the lighting was absolutely terrible for being awake and asleep. I will never ever stay with these people again.

We loved the Domes! We stayed in the King Suite. The kitchen and bathroom made a major difference and I didn't feel cramped. We made some of our meals to save money and spend it on the sites. We enjoyed the mountain view from our bed. The wood burning stove is also a major bonus as we felt so cozy and warm. There was an unexpected gift awaiting us upon our arrival. And, we met the housekeeper who was so friendly and accommodating. We saw the Northern Lights twice from our hot tub and once through the big window, though it is a little glossy, making it hard to see. The parking is convenient, less than 2 minutes to your door. One word of caution if you are looking for a wilderness escape. . . you're not in the middle of the city, but you are in the suburbs with some light pollution. One of the benefits to the burbs is how close you are to gas stations, grocery stores, and other necessities. There are buses that run on the main route, which isn't far from the domes. I highly recommend that you give the Domes a try. They're a little pricey, but worth it!

We weren’t quite sure about the place when we drove in, but once we were in done, Very cool place for sure. Great directions/instructions for self-checkin. Very Clean place, felt private in the domes. We weren’t sure how exactly to sort the showers though …seems like even when locked, if others had a key, they could get in???

Absolutely magical stay at the Reykjavik Domes. Every little detail was so well thought out, from board games, to complimentary drinks, to extra blankets. It was a magical experience to have. We visited on our honeymoon and managed to have an hour of very strong Northern lights activity while we were sitting in the hot tub. We visited in winter (it was -20 degrees Celsius) and with the fire place going we were toastie - the bed was extremely comfortable. Ignore the bad reviews, this was one of the highlights of our month long trip!

We stayed here only 1 night on 30/12/22. The room was nice however the toilet was blocked and we only realised at night when we used it for the first time. As soon as it’s flushed, the waste came up though the shower. Second time flush, it went further everywhere on the bathroom floor. Yuck! We tried to contact 3 different phone numbers noted on the guide book however no one called us back until we checked out the next morning. It’s now 15/01/23 and we haven’t heard back from the management. We do NOT recommend this hotel. Not worth $1250 per night.

The dome was a great experience but I would not go back. There were some things my spouse and I would like modified first. We stayed for two nights in the deluxe dome, which offered a full bathroom within the dome and a hot tub. There was no privacy when exiting the dome to go to the hot tub or sit on the deck. Anyone in the parking lot can see right to your dome entrance/exit. The doors (both the front and kitchen) were not easy to lock or unlock. The view was really disappointing. From the hot tub it was dumpsters or paint ball signage. When I booked I was under the impression we would be viewing the ocean or a large open space but you were only looking at a man-made hill. On a positive note, the fireplace was nice to have within the dome and the included coffee was great. Access to the kitchen amenities was nice as well.

I ordered their most expensive package for my 5 year with my gf and they completely ruined it by giving me the wrong package.. truly disappointing for spending the what I did, on top of the already overpriced stay. Absolutely would not book this again and truly had a disappointing 5 year. They however did correct this after reaching out to multiple people and multiple times. Yet I still never received everything that was stated in the package… hosts have 0 communication between each other and the people on the property won’t help at all. Absolutely atrocious hosting in my opinion. Would never book again..
