Avoid. Dangerous. Parts of floor are missing, no insulation for noise, no black curtains, they charge you breakfast without telling (they don’t even have scrambled eggs, what a joke), sinks runs over, shower floods the room and toilet which makes it slippery, elevator gets stuck on second floor, sink is rotated twards the window instead of mirror, no door to bathroom (no privacy only for singles or couples), no airconditioning, shower head needed to be cleaned before water came out. Location is good. Should be avoided considering the safety issues.

This hotel is in a great location, across the street from the downtown Tour Bus stop #6, making it very convenient for the airport bus and all the bus tours. Every tour company picks up there. The neighborhood around it is full of restaurants, bars, and shops. It's centrally located, and easy walking distance to both Hallgrimskirkja cathedral and the historic city center. I walked around a lot in the evenings and loved the vibe of the neighborhood. Oddly, there are no signs identifying the hotel from the street or sidewalk level. Just walk where your phone map tells you, and go inside. The 101 doormat inside the lobby was the only hint I was in the right place. Hotel owners: could you etch a 101 in the glass on your front door or put up a small sign for pedestrians? My room was very modern and clean, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities one expects. There are two things to be aware of though. 1) Only stay there with a spouse or partner (or solo), not friends or children, because there is nothing separating the glass shower from the bedroom (no wall, no doors). 2) The street side of the hotel can be quite loud on Friday and Saturday night, as this is a big night-life district and the street is busy with people loudly having a good time. But my room faced the inner courtyard and was very quiet.

Loved the interior design and the staff was very helpful. Even though the location is in the city center the noise was not bad. Saw some reviews about the noise but it was ok even though I stayed from Thursday-Monday. Comfortable beds and duvets.

Cool artsy front and seating area. Rooms are nice - modern/contemporary look. But no direction on where to park, which is an issue at its location if you have a car. Closest garage is expensive (P1 zone). No valet or place to unload other than one taxi space. And it was loud with low base thumping late into the evening and noise from people on the street (but it was a Saturday night).

Spent several days struggling to book an event space here. The staff did not respond to my emails promptly, left me on hold for long periods of time when I phoned them, told me they would phone me back but didn't, were hard to understand, and impolitely declined my request to bring a birthday cake to this birthday party I was planning. After 4 days of slow back-and-forth communication, they told me that in fact a hotel guest had reserved the space and I would therefore no longer be able to book it. Very disappointing experience.

Wonderful Art all over hotel . Service was great , rooms very clean and super functional . Enough space unlike most hotels in Europe . Lobby is very cozy . Art works are very well curated . Rooms are large , there is lots of space to put everything and lots of electrical outlets .

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. Close walk to the bay and many attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also, the restaurant Kastrup around the corner was great. And the bar appeared to be a destination for drinks.

Our room #405 overlooked the Harpa Concert Hall (beautiful modern glass building with the harbor and the mountains behind it), the Culture House, a city park, was right next to Bus Stop #6 for Flybus (airport shuttle) and tour/ excursion pick-up's, and was within a 10-15 minute walk to many attractions, restaurants and shopping. Location amazing! No special perks as others have mentioned even though part of the Marriott system. Was not extraordinarily expensive given that many hotels are very very expensive in Reykjavik. Pros: Lobby and bar beautiful. Staff courteous, friendly and efficient. Very clean, comfortable beds. Liked the modern aesthetic of the room. Lots of light through the windows, but with well fitted black out shades (not needed as much for us given December). Great desk with multiple outlets overlooking the view. We went to a bar across the street for dinner, Islenski Barinn - reasonably priced, very lively (long line out the door, though we got there at a lucky moment and got right in), very friendly and welcoming, and the food was terrific! Cons: No outlets next to either side of the bed, really unacceptable! No teapot or coffee pot, major bummer in the mornings. Halls are very dimly lit. The bathroom and bedroom are wide open to each other, that's not so appealing, though the glass enclosure around the toilet was fine. A bit more storage/ bigger closet would have been appreciated. We were there off season so the hotel was sp****ly occupied and no loud noise from neighboring restaurants/ bars, but I could see this as a potential problem during holidays/ in high season.
