Claridge Inn

The Claridge Inn is undergoing massive renovation. This facility should NOT be open during these renovations. While the rooms will be nicer when the work is done, the current conditions are deplorable. We were booked for three nights and left after one. There were filled garbage bags littering the halls, plaster dust, pieces of plaster, wallpaper *****s on the floors, and garbage bags and trash in the parking lot. There was no power cord for the TV, and we were wakened at 7:30AM by hammering and a drill in what sounded like next door or the room above. When I went to the front desk to complain, no one was to be found - anywhere. What I did find was a notice there were no working fire alarms or sprinkler systems. No one mentioned this when we checked in. The notice stated "someone" would be walking the halls but if we smelled smoke or saw fire, call 911. It also told us to listen for a foghorn, whistle or other notice. The debris left in the hallways was enough to give us concern about a fire hazard. When we left, we used the elevator which had the wall *****ped and the nasty carpet full of sheet rock dust and pieces. When we tried to get out the door on the first floor, it wouldn’t budge with both of us trying. We finally pulled as hard as we could and it finally popped open, clearly stuck. While they allowed us to check out two days early, they had no issue charging us the full rate for the one disastrous night, that was about 98% more than the experience was worth. I took pictures to show our family and they were shocked and horrified. Do yourself a favor and do not book a room here unless you verify ALL renovations are complete - and then think twice about it.

Room was clean and mini fridge was cold. Wish the heat had been set higher. Staff friendly and pleasant. Breakfast had juice and machine to make waffles. Yogurt would have been nice, with fruit in it.

After a long day on the road it was just ok. The room was outdated and needs new carpet. The staff was pleasant. Looks like I need more characters to post. So the rest of the story... The tub drained slowly, so you stood in a few inches of water, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up, and the bathroom was small with an odd layout and minimal counter space. I give it average rating, but I'm not to picky and I was beat from a long day on the road.

This is perhaps the worst motel I’ve stayed at in years. We weren’t able to get I to our room until a half hour past check-in time. The lobby and our room were miserably hot as they had turned off the air conditioning for the season. The room smelled musty and the furniture was stained. I’ll never stay at any Days Inn again.

Room was filthy pool was filthy desk clerk extremely unprofessional and snotty. Breakfast was a joke! Doors unlocked 24/7 no security whatsoever. It was a miserable stay in what used to be a beautiful hotel!

I like staying here. The location is very close to my family there. The rooms are outdated but clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. The pool heater wasn't working so the pool was cold. We went swimming anyway.

The staff is very friendly, but the property needs serious renovation. Holes in walls, stains in carpets, missing paint. A good old fashioned cleaning is needed. We were charged $200, but honestly it would have been a stretch to charge $49.

This Hotel Has a restaurant connected but other than Breakfast Not available. Perfect downtown location! Nice - Friendly staff - clean rooms Easily accessible parking etc. Would stay here again! Would Also stay at (a)other Wyndham property "The AmericInn (Closer to Interstate access i.e., Highway 51/151 WITH a Really Nice Sauna Large(r) And Warm(er) Pool. BUT If you Prefer to be closer to the middle of "Hodag's Lair" i.e., downtown You Should choose The - This Days Inn site.

I would like to start off by saying we come up to Rhinelander ever year to visit family and the past three years since our children have gotten bigger, my husband and I have been staying at hotels in the area. This year we chose the Days Inn, and boy was that a mistake. The room we were given was a suite #463. The smell was similar to the pachyderm house at the zoo and it was down right disgusting! I called immediately to see if there was a cleaner room and was told they were booked, but we could cancel our stay. We called around and every hotel in the area was booked, so we didn't have a choice really but to stick it out for the week. The following day, I went to the front desk to make sure they were aware of the condition our room was in. The front desk attendant, Melissa, wrote down my list and said a manager would be contacted. We didn't hear back from anyone, nor did we receive any credits. Upon check out a different girl was at the desk and said she didn't see any notes regarding this, but housekeeping was there and said she remembered the conversation we had with Melissa a few days prior. The girl said we could make a claim with *******, but we didn't book through them, but on the Days Inn website itself, and the front desk person said that was not possible. I gave up and left. My list of issues are: there seemed to be water damage and possible mold on the walls. Rug is torn and sticky in bedroom shear curtain in bedroom was ripped Window in bedroom was zipped tied shut and screen was on the floor couches and chairs all have stains on them bathroom sink was clogged (she sent maintenance up but they didn't fix the problem) Louvered doors by the entrance was missing panels many utensils in the kitchen were missing. Kitchen sink was clogged We went to the store purchased Lysol and plug ins but the smell would not go away. I cannot believe this is a Wyndham property, very dissapointed.
