The hotel has an impressive pool / bar area and the staff were very nice but this is where for us the positive aspects end. Misleadingly named Lindos Sun, it is not actually in Lindos and we wouldn't recommend the walk uphill in the Greek sun (20mins to the outskirts of the town, another 15/20mins to the beach through tourist packed streets.). There are no alternative eating options within easy walking distant or a supermarket. You are therefore heavily reliant on the hotel unless you have a car ( for which they apparently charge parking for!). There are fairly regular buses to and from lindos and pefkos ( the latter being a much better beach option). But no shade whilst you wait. Lindos sun claims to be a 4 star hotel however the “classic “ room we had was definitely not. The room was very shabby - holes and marks on the walls, broken hooks, and old scuffed furniture. There was food in the breakfast buffet that was being reused from the day before or generally stale. missing services that were advertised (e.g. no welcome drink, no room service or mini bar menu), a room phone that didn’t work so you couldn’t order room service anyway. We were therefore disappointed that we weren't getting the experience we’d paid for and had been looking forward to. However, we wanted to put that aside. Accept it and enjoy our holiday. On our 2nd day, our Jet2 representative, Petros, asked if we were happy with the hotel. We mentioned we were disappointed with the room and said it really was not 4*. He asked us to take pictures of the room to send to him. Petros later messaged saying to pack our bags and go to reception the following day after breakfast where they will move us to another room. We repeated that although we appreciated the offer we didn't want to switch rooms as we didn’t want the hassle of packing and unpacking again. We explained to reception how whilst we were disappointed, it was what was and we'd rather focus on enjoying our holiday. The receptionist decided that we should speak with the manager George. Expecting an apology or another way they could make up our experience, we were taken aback when George started verbally attacking us ( two women) and refusing to let us speak, continually talking over us. He was angry that we had sent photos to jet2 and told us he didn't like our behaviour. He said that we should’ve spoken to him (despite us not knowing he existed before this point). It was like being in the headmasters study! This encounter made me feel extremely anxious, shaky and tearful and not welcome for the rest our stay. When we came back from our day an attempt had been made to literally paint over the cracks. There was no attempt to apologise or make us feel better. Most definitely not a hotel we will be retuning to.
