Hotel Antico Borgo

Nice breakfast, clean rooms, great location, but no parking available near hotel, so need to carry everything by hand

Contrary to some of the reviews on here we can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed our half-board week stay at the Antico Borgo. It was set back only 5min walk from the lakefront and road within a pedestrianised area which meant we had a 5min walk with cases on arrival and departure- no big deal. All the staff we met during our stay were polite, courteous and eager to help. Our room was clean and comfortable with TV, powerful hot shower, air conditioning and comfortable bed. Breakfast offered us all we wanted with fruit, cereals, breads, cakes, eggs, yoghurt, scrambled egg, sausages etc etc- all we could possibly want. Evening meal offered 4 courses starting with cold fruit/veg then a pasta/rice dish then main meat/fish dish, then desert and each day offered a choice of 3 of the 3 main dishes. All food was high quality and well cooked and presented. We had completely different menus each day. Staff were very attentive and cleared away used plates fast and efficiently, they weren’t “staring at us” just doing their job very well. We were very pleased we had booked the half board option as couldn’t have faced the endless pizza/pasta/icecream offerings in the noisy Riva Restaurants each night. The Antico Borgo was well situated in the heart of the resort and although not luxury it offered fantastic value for money, comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and excellent food. We can’t wait to return.

Lovely hotel & amazing staff and location HOWEVER room walls are paper thin and you can hear everything!! So unless you want the hostel vibe book elsewhere.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel extremely welcome. The staff on reception were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was excellent and clean as was the entire hotel, situated in the middle of the town meant that it was ideally located to explore the town with its abundance of cafés and restaurants. My partner celebrated her birthday while we were there and when we came down for breakfast the staff on reception sang happy birthday to her. A really great holiday experience which we will definitely be doing again. A big, big thank you to all the staff.

We chose Antico Borgo because of its location in the heart of Riva del Garda and yet only two minutes from the lake front, and it was perfect. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, with a large balcony (almost a terrace) to sit and enjoy a view of the mountains and little side streets. The staff were wonderful, in particular Marco, Mariana and Maria. They were friendly, helpful and really made us feel welcome. The breakfasts had fresh cakes, pastries and fruit every day plus plenty more. Our stay was incredibly relaxing and we loved our first visit to Riva and this hotel.
