From day one, it was clear this hotel lacks leadership and basic service. Rooms weren’t cleaned, towels weren’t replaced unless we asked daily, and the place was dusty from the start. The spa, though extra (which is fine), limits visits to 90 minutes, and charges more than double for extra time. Breakfast was a disaster, we waited over an hour after ordering. We didn’t return the next day. There’s no on-site restaurant. Food is served at The Church, a detached venue outside the hotel grounds. Lounge areas were unattended—no menus or staff. We had to chase someone down just to get drinks, which they brought from the outside restaurant. Only on night two did they finally get the bar working. The lift was broken—you couldn’t even select the first floor, so we carried luggage upstairs. Worst of all, our request to have a birthday dinner in the Old House was dismissed, even though staff said it could be done. We canceled the spa and afternoon tea and almost left after one night. This place may look the part, but the experience is nowhere near 5-star.

What a fantastic find. Beautiful location. Friendly helpful staff. Wellhouse is so relaxing with a thermal spa, which is perfect for the mind and body. Great treatments. Greeted by Colleen so kind and helpful. We had the perfect day. Then Afternoon Tea in the main house. It was a fantastic end to a perfect day. Thank you to everyone at Rockhill House and WellHouse. Definitely recommend and looking forward to a return. Marie and Collette

Stayed two nights in a Coach house twin room. Really comfortable bed with standalone bath and rain shower with the bonus of a fridge. 5/5 Had breakfast in the hotel both mornings, it wax excellent. Made to order plus the option of pastries, fruit and cereals. Service at breakfast was excellent. 5/5 Spa facilities are one of the best we have been too, excellent massage, stsff and even better facilities - steam room, sauna, relaxation area, outdoor jacuzzi and meditation yurt. With the bouns of ordering beers! 5/5 The Church Restaurant this is external from the hotel, nice food and decent beer selection. Pints are below average, taps needed cleaned more regularly. Service can also be hit and miss 3/5.

The most unprofessional, disrespectful and disgusting attitude I've ever encountered from a "manager". Booked months in advance for a large party for an intimate wedding celebration meal as it would have been the go to for our family for occasions. Stated on booking, no reception, simple meal with family. Stated the same again when visiting to pay deposit and was shown where we'd likely be seated. Came a few weeks before to tie up loose ends and was met with the manager telling me absolutely not, no dress no apology only demanding to know who took the booking. I could have overlooked the dress policy which was not mentioned at all until this point, but the attitude I was given was not acceptable. It gave us 3 weeks to find another another establishment to accommodate us. The manager never called me back to rectify, instead having a member of staff call me to return deposit, again with no apology. Im sorry I ever supported this business in the past, and certainly won't support it in the future, nor will I recommend to anyone.

3 of us Went out one Friday evening to The Church restaurant At rockhill house for a birthday night out. We were VERY disappointed with the menu given to us - much smaller and not as good as the one shown on the website. BUT beware, as it’s a few miles out, if you change your mind, you’ve to get a taxi back into letterkenny and we couldn’t get a booking at the last minute . The food was okay, the wine list was poor and the outside area was nice but not a great view. It didn’t have much of an atmosphere either .

Beautiful historic manor with many renovations completed, some still in progress but does not take away from stay.
Carriage house was a wonderful space to stay in. Beautifully updated, modern yet complemented the Rockhill House.

Male Receptionist on Duty at check in asked us to wait whilst he completed a job of writing. When he did give us his attention, had poor interpersonal communication skills and manner lacked care or warmth. No welcome. Didnt offer to book us a table in restaurant. However did arrange promptly to have cigarette butts removed from front after our reporting.
Bedroom superficially clean, but dust (thick) on all high surfaces ie. Tv, mirrors also skirting, also on towel radiator. No protectors on beds or pillows. Sheet too small for bed and wudnt stay tucked.
Black stain inner bathroom door and drip marks on outer. Hairs in bath.
Grounds beginning to look uncared for. Hedges need clipped. Weeds need pulled.
Breakfast buffet untidy and poor variety and quality.
Cooked breakfast presented very well but bacon and sausage could have been better quality.
Salt cellar on table was completely empty. No toast was offerred.
We stayed same time last year, and it seems quality and attention to detail have slipped.
For an expensive hotel stay, expect better.
Reception staff on departure much more capable although didnt ask if we enjoyed our stay.
Downstairs decor in the drawing rooms remains outstanding, however sad to see precious furniture being stained by alcohol gel drips.
Glass bauble light fitting on stairwell dirty and with broken bauble visible.
Disappointing. Wont be back.

This hotel was nice. The history behind it was cool to read about. The thing I didn't like is that there was no air conditioning and we were fortunate to be in Ireland when it was 90 and sunny but sleeping was hard w/out fans.
