The Spanish Suite Via di Ripetta

This is NOT a hotel, but a collection of rooms in various buildings (mixed with apartments of permanent residents: feel sorry for them!), with no real reception, no real breakfast ( in some buildings a “breakfast room” with only the basics), . Rooms are very different from the ones shown on the website, very spare. No soundproofing. More a third rate airBnB charging the price of a good hotel. Spanish suite via di ripetta, Spanish suite piazza di Spagna are parts of the same scam. Stay away!

We booked the Spanish Suites 66 via di Ripetta in a queen room with continental breakfast. When we arrived they put us in another property at a different address. This was not what we booked. The manager was no help. The property at Via Vittoria 24 was supposed to be non smoking yet the people across the hall were smoking. When I text the manager I was asked if the lady smoking was one of their clients? Who else would it be? The place was a rooming house and why they did not know who this person was. We were asked if there is something we can do to make us feel better. Yes, put us were we booked in the room we booked. Then no more answers from the manager. Called and was told someone would call right back. Never got that call. The pictures on line at ******* are nothing to what we stayed in. The whole experience was awful. We have asked for a refund and ******* has emailed and called the hotel for 10 days now. In ten days no one has been available or answered the emails. Then to make matters worst at 10:30am (check out at 11am) a man knocks on the door to check us out. We booked a room based on the pictures provided not a run of the house place us anywhere you want. This is bad business for ******* and we are still waiting to be funded.

We paid for a standard room but upon arrival they took us to another property a few streets away. The property was a converted apartment with a common area and 4 bedrooms.. so a hostel. The bedroom we had was small and the bathroom was tiny with a small hanging light over the sink so it was dark. When we complained we were told we could be moved to the hotel room we originally booked for our last x2 nights, which they did go through with, but they messed us around on agreeing a refund for the nights we had to stay in the hostel. We kept being told that the manager / owner was abroad and so they couldn’t agree a refunded amount until we checked out. Upon check out they acted as if there hadn’t been a problem and so we had to push to agree a refund again. We agreed on an amount, but they said they couldn’t put it back on our payment card and that they could only do it by bank transfer. It has now been 2 weeks and they have still not transferred any money back and are ignoring my messages. It is very clear that they never had any intention of paying us the agreed refund. If we had not complained then we would have been staying in the hostel for the full stay as well. I would strongly advise to avoid this company as they are comfortable taking advantage of you.

I booked this hotel 4 months in advance receiving a verification that everything was confirmed, on the last day i recived another email to book a transfer and still everything was ok UNTIL later on during the day i got an email telling me that my booking got cancelled. I panicked and send an email at 11.00pm telling them that i did not cancel my booking and within less then 24 hrs i will be there and no one replied after a number of attempts ,calls , emails , WhatsApp messages they replied telling me not to panic and they are checking. After 1pm they sent me an email telling me to find somewhere elese to stay as my card had a problem and they cancelled my booking. Please note i booked it 300 euro for 3 nights via there site, on booking .com my room same day and the only one left was listed and priced 1,300 for 3 days.... These people are unprofessional and be aware, they didn't even respond to my calls becouse i was frustrated knowing i was going to a foreign country without a roof over my head and they simply didn't care for there customers. These things are unprofessional and unacceptable because if they were professional and organised they would have emailed me to tell me that there was a problem and if i don't arrange it within a few hrs my booking would be cancelled, for sure with in 1 minute i would have seen the problem and would have fixed it... Please note they blamed it on *********** and didn't even realise that i booked true there main site. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL Shame on them and all does responsible Disrespectful to there customers Communication 0 Money Greedy Unprofessional And Not trust worthy Please note i was a customer for 4 times and always sent people there but on this for sure it will mot happen again and you want see me again.

To begin with, Zakaria was the highlight of the hotel. Such a kind man and a true professional, it was the cleanest room we’ve ever stayed. A beautiful hotel in general in a good and safe location with a great staff willing to help every time we needed them. Definitely we are staying there again the next time we will visit Rome.

Liked the window view. Friendliness of staff as well as cleanliness of room. My bathroom made a weird noise but it wasn’t terribly annoying. The entrance of the hotel didn’t seem welcoming as it looks as if it was part of an old building. When I got up the elevator though, it was very appealing, pleasant. The room as well. Sometimes when it was time for cleaning, maybe it was the proximity to the dirty laundry, but there was a weird smell in the hallways. Other than that, it was well. I’d recommend adding eye holes for the door, to ensure safety when a person knocks. The community in which the hotel was situated in was safe. The staff there are helpful and clear about any questions you may have. If you plan to stay, get an eu adapter. I was from the US and didn’t know that I needed one, but they were kind enough to lend me one for my phone. Good hotel. No other issues.
