I absolutely 100% recommend you do NOT stay at Coolabah Hotel! Not only was the hotel pool being murky blue/green in colour from the neglect, old & run down bathroom (chipped tiles, mould & soap scum) THREE dryers were broken the service was nothing to be desired! Considering it was summer the pool should've been maintained for all guests to enjoy (it was advertised as being clean!) On the website it advertises FREE WI FI yet when we asked the recipient staff about there being absolutely NO wi fi at all we were met with uninterested & unhelpful excuses as to why it wasn't working! We had booked in for 4 nights so there is obviously alot of laundry to be washed & dried but alas there was ONE working dryer out of the FOUR that was available! On inspection of the bathroom it was obvious it needed a very serious renovation. Chipped tiles, mould in the shower grout & soap scum! Because of the "no cancellation" clause we were forced to stay here for our whole stay as being the New Years weekend there were no vacancies for our budget available in Townsville. I am less than impressed with the quality of the hotel, the professionalism of the staff & the amenities available. Please do not waste your time with this outdated & neglected hotel!
