The Angel Hotel

We have stayed in Leamington Spa on many occasions and on the 29 March we decided to stay at The Angel and what an absolute gem the hotel is. The receptionists are all really friendly. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast that is included was lovely. We stayed in room 103 which was very nice. Will definitely be staying there again. Many thanks to all

We stayed last night, our stay was fab… room was lovely, modern and clean. Staff were attentive and breakfast was spot on. Lots of nice little touches such as coffee, tea and biscuits and bathroom toiletries in our room. The bar area was great, only small gripe was that having some back ground music playing in the bar area later in the evening would have been great - it felt very quiet with out this! We will certainly stay again, thank you for making our stay fab!

This was an overnight stay to attend a family event. The hotel was not previously known to meet. Overall impressed with staff - few and far between but they changed hats/roles politely and professionally. Breakfast was lovely and poached egg cooked to perfection. The hotel is not the most modern - however, is in keeping with its age and style. Things to be addressed:- Temperature in room - January and it was literally boiling! Even with heating off. There were some fans in wardrobe but were super noisy. Accessibility - unfortunately, the set up of this hotel is not geared up for people with accessibility. Yes, there are lifts but it would be a tight squeeze for a wheelchair - room doors are narrower. This is not a criticism as due more to age and style of hotel. My partner has mobility issues - was unable to use the bathroom as no rails to hold onto - I think there is only one room with this, something easy to remedy. My partner requires a walk in shower, but bathrooms here are traditional. PARKING - As a blue badge family, we rang ahead to secure a place and assured there would be a space. Rather than being properly marked on the floor, a longstanding standard, it was just a traffic cone with a notice. HOWEVER! All of these had been moved to the point they were a couple to the side and several at the back of spaces - cars were in front with no blue badges. There were also no additionally wide spaces - essential if you are helping someone in and out of a car so you don't hit the car next to you. For a one night stay, a perfectly adequate hotel with friendly staff but not accessibility friendly which would influence our choice for a further stay.

Good points. Comfortable room with great bed. Nice bathroom with good shower. Breakfast was lovely. Bad points. Unhelpful staff, I kindly asked the man at reception if the EV parking space became free could he call me. Said he would get it moved and give me a phone call, this was at 10am. Didn’t hear anything came back at 3pm the man was gone and there was a lady at reception so I just politely updated her on situation and asked if she could let me know if if becomes available as it was still the same non EV Mercedes vehicle parked in the EV spot. A few hours later I just popped down to check and to my discovery the Mercedes had gone and there was now an Audi parked in the EV spot! I was very surprised why the lady at reception didn’t let me know? Also she was down there the whole time surely would have noticed it being moved? She seemed to find the situation quite amusing and I felt like she did it on purpose. She then told me that the Mercedes that was parked in the EV spot all day without charging was actually the owners car! After all that there was nothing I could do so I had to find a car park in town that had EV charging and had to leave my car there overnight as I had a long trip to do the following morning. Pretty inconvenient seeing as the hotel states EV charging though they don’t enforce it or the owner decides to park his non EV vehicle there for the day.

Clean and comfortable throughout. The reception staff Mucktadin and Mathew were helpful and attentive. A tasty breakfast with plenty of choice with hot menu freshly cooked to order and served by a friendly and cheerful team. The hotel is located in the middle of the town centre and was good value.

We had a lovely night at the Angel. We had a large, quiet room with a great shower and bath. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had at a hotel, expertly cooked by Dina. Mucktadir was very helpful and kind to us with admin and check out.

My business colleagues and I stayed at this hotel over the weekend (Friday to Sunday). We had a great experience. The location was excellent close to all the key attractions at Leamington Spa. The breakfast served was nice including hot cooked options. The service came with a smile. Hannah served us with warmth. Mukthtabir at the front desk was happy to accommodate our requests as well as went out of the way to serve Tea to some of our visiting guests. All in all it was a great stay and we would surely recommend this place to anyone who plans to spend couple of days at Leamington Spa.

Food at breakfast was good as was location of hotel. Miserable male receptionist on check in and really miserable female staff at breakfast, never saw a smile once from either. Booked a small double room but did not expect it to be set up as a single room. We only had one cup, one bath towel, one bottle of water,one set of pillows and one bedside cabinet with one bedside light so both couldn't read in bed. I had to clean the bathroom tiles above the sink as there was something on them. The shower over the bath was antiquated and difficult to control. Wi fi was intermittent and required several logins. Parking was £12 per night which we paid on check in, only to be asked for it again on check out. The person who checked us in obviously didn't log the original payment to our room number. It was an expensive stay for what we got and the worst accommodation of our touring holiday in England and Wales. There were other nationwide hotels in the town which appeared to offer cheaper and better rooms.
