Serena & Alessandro are fantastic hosts, thank you both for making us so welcome! I highly recommend signing up for the amazing breakfast & evening meals. They grow their own fresh, in-season produce & create the most incredible meals! This really is the best way to experience life in Italy & the amazing local cuisine! The room was excellent, rustic furniture, clean & a very comfortable bed! We had a very relaxing few days by the pool & Florence is only 30mins away on the train (free parking at the station), so well situated. We both came away totally refreshed & probably a few lbs heavier thanks to Serena's cooking! Oh and the lovely organic Chianti made in-house. We'll be back! xxx

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at Podere Il Poggiolo…the first time in the spring time, this time in the autumn. I just love it this Agriturismo for so many reasons. I have stayed in two different rooms and loved them both. The accommodations are very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The wifi is perfect, no problems. Both times I have been there there were families using the beautiful swimming pool, taking horseback riding lessons, hiking, and going off on day trips…It is perfect for families and groups, but for me, a solo traveller ( or for a couple), it is wonderful too. The accommodations allow plenty of privacy if wanted with the ability to do all of the activities you want…The food is just incredible. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is. Everything is so fresh and creative. There is a lovely glass dining room for breakfast and dinner…but you can eat in your room too. The property is beautiful…way up on a hill, surrounded by olive trees…There are beautiful horses, a sweet doggie ( Flo) a big boar, a donkey, a pony…so much love goes into their animals. Lastly, the owners are super attentive and so very kind. I hope to be back in the spring for the poppies.

First time at Poggiolo and it was a really positive experience: it's like going back in time when everything was slower and healthier. The hosts, Serena and Alessandro, are very hospitable and make you feel at ease straight away. The cuisine is excellent and plentiful. The farm itself is very well looked after, completely fenced off so that children and animals can run around in total freedom. The room is always well tidy and clean and all the staff are very professional. Note absolutely worth highlighting: the donkey Geppetto and the dog Flo are very nice and sociable. An experience truly recommended for those who want to find pure relaxation

Our holiday with Serena and Alessandro was our first stay on Podere il Poggiolo and, first of all, it won't be our last. The location is fantastic on a hilltop level, a little away from the nearest town, Rufina, but all the more quiet. The hosts including all the helpers are very open, helpful and friendly. The farm with horses, donkeys and domestic pigs is particularly great for children, as the whole farm including the pool is fenced in so that they can jump freely. Even without pre-booking, Alessandro made a riding lesson possible for our girls. Of course, this made him even more of a hero of the holiday. We particularly liked the freshly prepared delicacies for breakfast and dinner. Upon request, Serena can also conjure up an aperitivo. The only small point of criticism, but again typically Italian, was the dinner time; From 8 p.m. onwards is a bit late for younger guests, but by the third evening at the latest you'll have adjusted to that and enjoy the typical Tuscan dishes even more. All around a great place to relax and enjoy!

Struttura fantastica in mezzo al verde. Gestori fantastici, noi siamo vegetariani e ci hanno deliziato con piatti vegetariani fantastici e non con le solite insulse paste al pomodoro ed insalata. La cosa bella è che ci sono i cavalli, un somarello, un pony, un cinghiale, un gatto e tre cagnolini che girano liberi. Posto ideale per famiglie con bambini. Struttura molto confortevole, immersa nel verde delle colline Toscane nel cuore del Chianti. Ubicato su una collina permette di avere una vista unica sul territorio. Camere che sono appartamenti molto confortevoli e puliti. Stile rustico e che trasuda di tradizione toscana. Bellissimo l'angolo colazioni e cene dove il padrone di casa e sua moglie trattengono gli ospiti con racconti del territorio e della loro storia. Cibo a dir poco ECCELLENTE, fatto in casa che ti fa percepire l'essere in Toscana. Zona piscina molto piacevole e rilassante. Area sigari, lettura, alcolici davvero una chicca.
