Basq Stays

We have just spent 9 glorious days staying in The Olcorn at Basq. Our stay totally exceeded our expectations. The location of Basq in Rutherglen is perfect. Walking distance to the many Main Street cafes, shops and dining options and an easy 5 minute drive to Scion winery and cellar door - a must visit! Large, double glazed windows meant that even on cold days we were bathed in warm sunshine. The air con effectively and quickly topped up the heat as the sun went down. The king bed and linen were sumptuous and the bedroom block out blinds ensured a great nights sleep. The quality carpet on the bedroom floor added to the feeling of warmth and luxury. The ensuite bathroom was really spacious and the rain shower fantastic. Great water pressure and unlimited hot water. Everything was spotless and super clean. The kitchen had absolutely everything you could need for a short or long stay. So much thought and experience has gone in to ensuring guests have everything they could possibly need. Quality appliances, including a front loading washer/drier in the clever laundry was invaluable for our 9 day stay. The Smart TV, comfy sofas, Nespresso coffee machine (and pods) and reliable internet ….the list goes on! The owners could so easily have squeezed more apartments on this large site, but have instead offered guests an lovely park like environment of extensive green lawns, trees, generous drives and double carports for each villa. Central to the property is a great BBQ area which we didn’t use, but would be fabulous for larger families or groups of friends staying. Although the other villas were occupied most of the time, our stay felt private and quiet. We were barely aware of others on the property, so a great option for either couples or groups. The owner Michele, and her assistant Chantelle were extremely responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay. In a past life I was a State and National tourism awards judge and I highly recommend Basq as up there with the best I have seen. Basq offers extremely good value for money. Beautiful accommodation in Rutherglen. Stayed here as a family of 6 adults and 2 young children. It was perfect. Each bedroom had its own ensuite. Kitchen was well equipped and outdoor Bbq facilities were great. It was lovely to have some outdoor space and privacy. Would highly recommend this accommodation.
