I don't expect much when booking lodging in Israel largely due to my budget but Safed Inn exceeded my expectations. I selected it as my lodging due to the location and price. Yes it isn't walking distance to anything except for a small market but I knew this so it was fine. You aren't as remote as some reviews seem to make it if you have a car. In less than 45 minutes you have some stores and restaurants. There is a bus stop outside but I cannot speak for experience on the routes as I didn't take the bus at all. The people who run it are very nice people, kind, and helpful. They are the exact kind of people who you meet running b&bs, and you can tell they love what they do and they interact with guests. Ojai and Topanga in CA meets fairy tale. The room itself was bare bones but clean, had great air conditioning, had a minifridge, and the bottles of water were a nice bonus and appreciated. It was definitely more on the shabby chic side so it may not be everyone's cup up tea but for me it worked. The water pressure in the shower was good. It is a wet room style which I hate but the floor didn't get soaked thankfully. There is a kitchen available for guests to use along with a washer and dryer.I didn't use any of the amenities so I cannot really comment but know they have them available. They also have a hot tub and sauna but didn't use either (too hot!). Lots of places on the property to sit and relax and I definitely did those things. There is parking, not a lot but it's there and the spots aren't tight. Some limited street parking as well. Not many negatives. The bed for me wasn't the most comfortable as it was more like a thin pad, but I slept fine as I had long, busy days exploring. I also didn't care for whatever the scent was in the cleaning solution that the housekeeper used. Smelled like a very heavy jasmine. I only stayed a couple of nights so not worth mentioning when I was there. A small pool (even a Dough Boy) would have been nice to have in the summer but not a big deal to not have it. Would recommend and would return.
