Bavarian Haus
Property is on the beach but the beach is dirty and rocky. They did have cornhole and horseshoes out near the beach which was a plus. Breakfast was ok. The biggest problem was swarms and swarms of flying insects(bigger than gnats) flying around everywhere.

The front desk ladies were so nice and gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants. Hotel is a little shabby. It’s been around for a while. We did not have a microwave in our room which was listed on the amenities. However, it was clean.
The view from the room was fabulous. We were right on the beach of Lake Huron.

Clean, comfortable and convenient!
Bavarian Haus Lakefront Inn served us well for our first trip to the UP. For a prime autumn weekend, the prices were reasonable. The rooms are a bit dated but still comfortable. We love that every room has a lakeside patio or balcony! Within walking distance to a number of restaurants, we had a variety of food choices. It was easy access to Mackinac Island and the Mackinaw Bridge so exploring the area was easy. We would definitely consider staying here on a return visit.

They put us in the room right below the breakfast café which at 6:30 am became very noisy due to the continental breakfast they served. We also had no cleaning service since they were very short staffed. In addition, they called us to say that my wife could not smoke on the patio outside our room that faced the lake. It appears one of the guests tattled on us. I was informed that it was a $250 fine. I explained that I was not aware of this and they told my wife that we needed to be 150 feet from the building. However, the designated smoking areas outside of every exit were not that distant and in fact the ash trays were right next to the exit door. We also did not see any postings in the lobby or elsewhere about this restriction. I purposely booked a room at a hotel that had either a patio or balcony so my wife could go outside and have a smoke. I will never stay at this hotel ever again and I warn anyone else who has a similar situation to not book there either. There are other hotels in St. Ignace that are far more accommodating.

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I was to stay here! Please read on to the end!
I stayed in the Bavarian Haus for only one night, but enjoyed my stay. The room had a fridge and a microwave was available near my room. The breakfast had enough options to get me started for the day. The room was exceptionally quiet and I woke up to the sun rising over the lake (beautiful!).
The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond for me as I checked out. My back tire was completely flat the morning I checked out (I ran over a screw during my drive to the UP). I was unsure how to change a tire and asked the kind lady behind the desk. She immediately called the gentleman working maintenance to help. He graciously changed my tire out in the cold weather. This allowed me to safely drive 7 hours back home to Wisconsin. I cannot tell you how grateful I was for the caring staff!!

Needs up date. Bed were ok.It was quite, pretty view from our room.up keep on the grounds and building was poor. Rooms seemed clean.

It served its purpose which was sleeping. It was fine, very outdated which I knew before our stay. Stale, stagnant air upon arrival which is the first impression.
