Accommodation Quality: The accommodations, including cottages and hotel rooms, are generally clean, comfortable, and offer stunning sea views. Many guests appreciate the spacious rooms, comfy beds, and the charm of the White House Hotel, despite some considering it dated.

Stayed last minute for the last night it was open for the season. I had wanted to stay there since the time I first visited the island 40 years ago.I had an amazing room upgrade and had a lovely stay, everything was perfect thank you. Took loads of photos so beautiful.

Three generations of our family have spent the May half term at the White House for over thirty years. It has had a bumpy few years recently but under the new management, now in its second year, the old values of warm hospitality and excellent food are firmly re-established. It speaks volumes that most of last year’s staff have returned for another season. Returnees (‘so nice to see you again’) and new visitors alike were greeted warmly at Reception on arrival and the Conservatory restaurant staff were exceptional, as were those in the Monks Bar. The slimmed down menu at dinner offered both a fixed a la carte and daily specials - we didn’t need to eat the same thing twice and were frequently spoilt for choice. The hotel manager was a visible presence throughout and took the time to chat to guests regularly, ensuring he had a clear picture of how things were going. Thank you for another excellent holiday!

A short walk to the hotel from the harbour and your luggage is whisked away . A friendly reception who can sort anything. Vincent rustling up delightful cocktails at the bar with a happy smile. Atif and his team provided splendid food with care and enthusiasm in the restaurant. Herm shop provides you with all sorts of gifts to bring home. The return of some daily newspapers is great in the lounge. The garden is looking lovely and the tennis court has been partially resurfaced. Beautiful walks round the island and refreshments at Belvoir or Shell. A holiday on Herm is always restorative and this year was no exception. Well done all.

We stayed at Seaview cottage. The views were incredible! A view that will be forever etched on my memory! Breath taking. The beaches is like being in the Caribbean! Not crowded either! The cottage was very clean, well equipped, quaint. Absolutely adorable. The island is just a beautiful gem ! We were so sad to go and so relaxed when we left. Love you Herm and the adorable cottage!

We returned to beautiful Herm in May 2025, and had the most perfect trip. Our accommodation was comfortable and clean. We slept wonderfully every night in the comfy beds, and woke to the sound of birdsong. After a leisurely breakfast, we got in the habit of starting the day with a great mid-morning coffee at the Mermaid, before a day of beaches, hill climbing, and general exploring. My husband was visiting the island for the first time, and wanted to see it all! Herm has a magical way of bringing out the child in you, and making hills and rock pools a thing of excitement. Herm has made many improvements over the past few years, but has not lost the pretty and wild nature it always had. The wildflower fields at the south end of the Spine Road are alive with bees and butterflies, and even so early in the season, the flowers all over the island were looking glorious. The gift shop had many lovely things to tempt us, and we allowed ourselves to be tempted! Lots of gorgeous items this year. Shell Beach cafe has expanded to include lunches and alcohol, whereas Belvoir is still a quiet little cafe with the usual delicious treats. This tiny island really has something for everyone. All prices were very reasonable and even less expensive than those back home in Cornwall. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and friendly. The feeling of community on Herm extends to all, and we felt completely at home. All in all, everything was ideal, and we left feeling sun-kissed and recharged. Such a perfect spring holiday. Special mention to Anne and Sophie in the harbour office, Georgiana, Minu and Alina at the White House Hotel, Hazel in the gift shop, Ryan and all the staff at the beach cafes, Tom at the Mermaid, and Brandon on the outdoor team, for all their help. Special thanks to Mark for helping to make us feel perfectly looked after from the minute we stepped off the boat until the minute we left. Also, a shout out to Peter, Garry and Nick at Trident. The ferry trip is always where the Herm experience truly begins. Herm is as wonderful as ever, and we will be back soon!

We went to the hotel start of the season… the food was extremely good and staff was very pleasant. Past tense we had the fortune to have one of the old chefs menus (the one with the glasses). We came back this week for the day to try the food and go to the beach etc.. we got told the chef has gone!!! So we went anyway … it wasn’t great - most was over cooked and didn’t really have much about it. It was such a shame we were so looking forward to coming back. Maybe give us a ring when the old chef comes back which we pray he does. But on a positive note the beaches are incredible but overall no where really to eat. Sarah!

We have just returned from 4 relaxing nights staying in The Whitehouse Hotel on the stunning island of Herm. The hotel was clean and comfortable if a little dated which only added to its charm. The lounge area downstairs was spacious and very comfortable and was especially cosy with a lit fire in the evening. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice. Every member of staff we encountered were friendly and helpful especially the lady on reception, Vincent from Kenya who made great cocktails and the Scottish guy with glasses who served us in The Mermaid. We ate mostly in The Mermaid where we found the food to be delicious and good value. The whole island is unspoilt and a haven for nature and we never saw any litter. We can’t wait to come back next year.
