Never stay at this hotel. It is not 4-star hotel it is hostel. Not worth for money. Moreover, the toilet is not working, and bad smell of stinky socks are in the room. I think one night would be enough for me. I would strongly recommend not to stay here.

A lot of flaws in this place, I wish we had gone elsewhere. It’s far from as well run as the Asia Hotels in Khiva and Bukhara. The WiFi doesn’t work which is essential for modern travel. The AC/fan didn’t work. There were food crumbs, including whole potato chips, in the carpet of the room. For vegetarians, be aware the vegetable soup has large chunks of meat in it. Location is an alley….you’re not walking to any sites from here. They also keep your passport overnight, which is an outdated and unnecessary practice that makes travelers uneasy.

What is it with the Asia Hotel chain? The Khiva one was overrun by drunks. The concierge there was useless. The reception staff here were even worse, unhelpful, and unpleasant. (As in, hotel bar, 10 yards from reception, is nothing to do with us…) Breakfast as forgettable as Khiva. Rooms equally tired… Pool area , small and permanently in shadow… Location was good near the Registan, but so are many of the other hotels.

This hotel seems to have a lot of group tours stay. The hotel is generally very outdated. Our room was adequate for a short stay but one bed was rock hard and onother softer but still firm. Orange bed covers. The orange towels were past their best. Breakfast was terrible, mainly what appeared to be leftover vegetables from dinner. No lift. Several of our tour guests said staff were unhelpful or rude but we found them OK. Pool/bar area outside was quite nice for relaxing. Location is OK near Registan Sq when you get your bearings, but appears at first sight to be in a side street near residential properties. Would not recommend unless on a tour and you have no choice!

I was somewhat dreading staying at this hotel because of some of the previous reviews (I was travelling with a group and had no choice about where I stayed), but it was much better than I was expecting. Yes, the decor is a little dated, but you're only staying for a couple of nights, not moving in, so I can't really see why that should be a reason to deduct points. On the whole, the hotel and room were clean and comfortable, there was not too much noise (although the 5am call to prayer did make me jump) and the breakfast was plentiful, if not as varied as some. You could do worse than the Asia Samarkand if you're on a budget and you want a location within 5 minutes of Registan Sqaure and, in the other direction, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque.

Among the hotels on our tour in Uzbekistan, this is the one where we had the worst experience. It is an old, very sad hotel, from the same Asia chain as the one in Bukhara which however was of a different category. The only positive side: the optimal location adjacent to the pedestrian area, 5 minutes from the Registan. For the rest, as already underlined by other visitors, the hotels are characterized by unadorned rooms, not aesthetically attractive. Our two rooms, at our request, faced the internal courtyard and were therefore very quiet. The bathrooms are decidedly outdated. The air conditioner split didn't work, it locked out after two/three minutes. The breakfast is a little richer than in other places, but always with a very limited offer; for my celiac wife some products, especially eggs, fruit and a bit of cheese (like everywhere to be honest...). Aside from the location, I would recommend looking for an alternative (and while walking we saw several other hotels adjacent to the pedestrian area).

I stayed at this hotel for a tour organized by my travel agency. The hotel is located close to the central square, I didn't like breakfast or dinner in the evening. However, I recommend it to all those who need truly top accommodation a stone's throw from the square!

Asia Samarkand. Today is June 22. Since 2005, I have been using hotels of the Asia chain, the first in 2005 was Asia Fergana. As of today, the breakfast buffet is GONE! The hotel says it's not profitable. Your level has dropped today! Horror. Disappointed. You can confirm from the video..

A somewhat dated hotel, but conveniently located in relation to Registan Square. Restaurant was only open for breakfast, closed otherwise. Wifi was mediocre, little signal in the room. To upload photos you had to go to the lobby.
