Good choice of overnight stop on the two moors way. You have to leave the two moors path to get here and we found the rights of way to the pub were a little overgrown. When we arrived the inn was closed but they leave the keys to your room clearly marked in the entrance hall. A brilliant idea that set the tone for a very good stop over.

We stopped at the pub for the first time for a lunch . Lovely looking place bar maid was pleasant. We ordered our food a steak and ale pie and a ploughman’s lunch . We were told that the pie takes a while to cook would be 30-40 minutes which was not a problem. When the food finally arrived we were disappointed my husband’s ploughman’s lunch was tiny and definitely not value for money . My pie was nothing fantastic, we can make better at home . Would not return or recommend.

Stayed here whilst walking the Two Moors Way Walk. It's a bit off the trail and requires an extra mile or so to reach it, which is quite hard. But the pub is very nice, well appointed clean rooms comfy beds. Delicious food well served. Excellent Bteakfast set us on our way.

Excellent meal, home made , chips were a proper colour. Sticky toffee pudding was the best ever. Landlord an affable man, enjoyed the lunch there. Will go again. Good selection of beers. Old public house, typical Devon pub. Tables and general cleanliness was excellent. The live parrot was an attraction, he has been in the pub for many years. No problem. Over cast day on our visit, the pub has an outdoors seating area which would be nice in the sunshine.

Very much enjoyed our stay at The New Inn. Easy access from the A377 to the Inn and quiet hamlet. Relaxed, peaceful environment large room, comfy bed, all needs catered for. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. Pleasant sitting in the bar for a drink, or a meal - nice menu, quality ingredients, locally sourced. A good opportunity to slow down for a couple of days, take some local walks over the fields and green lanes and then back to enjoy the hospitality.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. The landlord was welcoming and the food was excellent. We all had the roast beef and it was cooked to perfection and the servings were generous. The Inn is a little off the beaten track but well worth the drive.

Popped in for lunch with my daughter. Absolutely fabulous food. Locally sourced ingredients which were fresh and beautifully presented. Landlord was a super host and the building and surrounds are very pretty. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great visit :)
