Amazing farmhouse in the middle of beautiful Tuscany. Comes with swimming pool, WiFi and is very comfortable. Do take advantage of the 4 course locally produced meal. Fabulous in all respects and was very inexpensive. Just 5km outside of San Giminano

We were underwhelmed by this place. Little communication with the owner, dinner not available and quite basic breakfast. The only place we stayed at in Tuscany where we were happy to leave. Pool was much smaller than appeared from the photos.

This place is a piece of heaven in the earth. Besides the place is exactly as the pictures, the reality is way much better. The place is surrounded by trees and pines, with n amazing view of San Gimignano. However thats just physical enhancements to the experience. Carmela, the owner made me feel at home. I told to her I was learning and practicing Italian so she did speak just italian to me, show me and corrected me. (Very appreciate). She did recommendations, made phone calls. She was always looking forward on my itinerary to give inputs and suggestions. Besides the great person she is, she produce Olive oil and cook “home made” everything, even the yogurt. Food is amazing!!! Local tuscany flavors! This place was just amazing. The only thing I regret was not to stay longer. 6 days at Toscana is not good enough! Ohh I almost forgot, the breakfast are just amazing. Besides eggs, jams, salamis, cheeses, fruits, tea, coffee, granola, cereal and all that usually you find in breakfast, she did every single day, a different cake. Always so fresh and warm.. mmm, I’m going to miss it. Carmela, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I love to met people as you and hopefully we will see you again!!!

English: Attracted by the excellent reviews, we did not hesitate to reach this beautiful location at the cost of many hours of travel. The owner had completely forgotten our arrival, so much so that she confused us with other guests. The oversight included our dinner, booked 3 weeks in advance, which the lady offered to prepare anyway, saying that she would “fix something”. Frankly, we had not traveled 5 hours for a fix dinner, and we opted for a restaurant nearby, without receiving any indication in this regard from the lady (not even the gesture of saying “I’ll try to give you a hand, go here or here, I’ll make a phone call to check availability”). The next morning we saw our neighbors at the table being offered an additional portion of cured meats, while we were totally ignored. The feeling was that of being treated like second-class customers. Too bad. Never again so many hours of driving for such a service.

Only two days this time but enough to confirm the tranquility and beauty of this farm. The management is always impeccable and the cuisine is truly excellent, typical and genuine from breakfast to dinner. Not to be missed

Total absence of privacy in the room (ground floor, on the walkway for customers). WiFi is not available in the rooms, only outside. In the rooms it does not even take 4G. So total absence of internet connection. Present bunk bed. There was no towel for the bidet. Reception at the entrance below Tuscan standards. The only good thing was the silence.

Wir können nicht sagen, wie sich die Unterkunft für einen längeren Aufenthalt eignet. Wir waren nur kurz da und dafür waren ok. Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach und leider auch sehr dunkel und klein. Es wäre auch super, wenn es einen Wasserkocher im Zimmer geben würde, da man schon etwas von der Stadt weg ist und man sich nichts zwischendurch zubereiten kann. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut - ein richtiger ital. Kaffee wäre jedoch super. Aber natürlich muss man auch das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis positiv bewerten. Wir empfehlen, das Menü mit zu buchen. Man sitzt sehr schön auf der Terrasse und hat auch eine schöne Aussicht. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt würden wir jedoch nicht hierher fahren - dafür hat es für uns zu wenig Komfort- aber dass ist wie alles Geschmackssache

Abbiamo soggiornato presso Il Castagnolino durante le vacanze. È una vera oasi di pace, immersa tra gli ulivi, con una vista panoramica sulle colline che circondano San Gimignano. Il soggiorno è stato particolarmente piacevole grazie alla disponibilità e cortesia della Signora Carmela, che, tra l'altro, prepara ottimi piatti tipici toscani con i prodotti del proprio orto.
