La Fortuna Rojas Dafu

I can recommend this hotel for budget travelers. It’s a safe and quiet place to get some rest between outings. This hotel is a little old, so even if it’s cleaned it will look dirty. For a traveler on a budget, it should be enough. 3/5 for cleanliness because of the age of the room. I was asked if I wanted a room with a street window or one with a hallway window. I asked which was quieter and it was the one with a hallway window so I chose that one (room 511). It was quiet as promised and I slept well. The neighborhood at night felt a little sketchy, but I felt my room was safe because the family that runs it is super friendly and made me feel very welcome and secure. 4/5 for location because of the feeling on the streets at night. 5/5 for service from the very friendly family that runs it. One thing that would be a great addition to the room would be a rack with hangers to put some clothes on. 3/5 for amenities because of the lack of closet for hanging clothes and lack of refrigerator to keep drinks cold. There is a ceiling fan which is enough to keep you cool. Thank you to the family for their kindness and hospitality!

THIS HOTEL IS OWNED BY WEALTHY CHINEESE PEOPLE. THEY WERE GRACIOUS AND HELPFUL. I GUESS BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY AROUND THIRTY BUCKS A NIGHT THEY DON'T CARE MUCH ABOUT PROFIT. BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE CITY ON THE 5TH FLOOR, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. GREAT ROOM SERVICE. EXTREMELY QUIET AND PROFESSIONAL SETTING. PERFECT SETTING FOR HIGH END BUSINESS MEETINGS. EXCLUSIVE DINING NEXT DOOR AND COFFEE SHOPS NEXT TO LOBBY. GROCERY STORE NEXT DOOR IS EXCELLANT. BEST VALUE IN ALL THE 4 STAR HOTELS IN COSTA RICA. EXCELLANT COLD AIR CONDITIONING.
