Hotel la Casa de Don Tomás

Just spent 3 nights at this hotel. The rooms don't have AC but a fan is provided. Staff are all friendly and welcoming and the food in the restaurant is good value for money. No coffee facilities in the room however drinks (tea, coffee and water) are available 24/7 in the lobby. Very laid back. Its only a 5/10 min stroll to the main hub of the town. Would definitely recommend this hotel

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff are all incredibly friendly and contribute to the relaxed vibe of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable, they don’t have AC but a large fan kept the room cool enough. There is no kettle in the room but there is a 24 hour tea and coffee making station in reception. The pool area is a great place to cool down from the hot desert. The hotel is situated on the edge of town and is very quiet during the night but only a short walk into town for shops, bars etc. However the hotel restaurant is fantastic and had a very reasonably priced menu which included excellent vegetarian food. There is also a lovely shaded terrace to relax with a drink. The best meals I had in Chile were here. If you are in San Pedro stay here!

Lovely bungalow style hotel. Really comfortable beds and great shower. The staff were excellent encouraging my poor Spanish taking time to speak with me and help my learning. The swimming pool though small was superb at the end of a long hot day exploring the Atacama. Close enough to the town centre that it was an easy walk. Would definitely recommend and happily stay there again

Hotel prices are high in San Pedro de Atacama so we chose this simple hotel which suited our budget. The main thing that stood out about this hotel is how genuinely friendly and accommodating staff and management are. They offer a very good breakfast with a large choice of what looks like home made cakes and pastries. Free excellent coffee (and teas) are available day and night and I liked their filtered drinking water dispensers as it saved us buying bottled water and is eco friendly. What we didn’t love, and hence only four stars, is that there is a lot of noise from the courtyard which doubles as driveway as well as from the hallways within the building - you can hear everything and as many people have early starts our sleep was disturbed countless times. If I chose to stay here again I’d pay a little extra for a premium room as they are neatly tucked away far from the main entrance and street. Another negative point is that the rooms get very hot during the day and with the lack of air conditioning it’s nearly impossible to get the heat out of the rooms. All in all we still had a good time here especially because of the friendly and helpful staff.

Very nice hotel in San Pedro if you want peace and quiet. Rooms are clean and updated. Continental breakfast it’s a must try. We had a horrible experience with the Management team and they were open to fix or to helps us. Would I go back there ? Definitely not.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights - no regrets. Very warm welcome and great friendly service throughout our stay. Rooms very comfortable, beds massive and comfy, though note there is no air-conditioning as in many local hotels - large fan helped at night. Lovely grounds and swimming pool good. We ate out twice but enjoyed the food at the hotel so much that we ended up eating at the hotel on three evenings - some of the best food we have had in our seven weeks in Chile. Menu is a little limited but quality of food is superb - special shout to Carmen in the restaurant and Ricardo in reception. Breakfasts were also great with extensive variety of fruit, yoghurts, breads, pastries (really good) and a limited selection of cooked food. Overall surpassed our expectations and would highly recommend. We had a hire car which worked very well for us - just one hairy journey in the dark up to the El Tatio Geysers very early one morning - otherwise no issues and much cheaper and more flexible than the tour vans!

This hotel was really lovely, what made it even more amazing was the staff. They truly went above and beyond for me which I so appreciated. The breakfast was great and they always had coffee and tea during the day as well as a water refill station outside.

We booked a 3-week high-end Chile Tour via Cascada Expediciones of Santiago & this Hotel was the worst we experienced. Booked this tour/room more than 1-1/2 years ago & they assigned us a standard room for four (4) nights, which is situated three (3) meters from our room to the road/intersection where every car, truck, tourist bus & van drives into the hotel & honks, brakes & screeches upon turning & entering Book/Go elsewhere!!! ❌❌❌
