"This is a very difficult review to write as the property is a work in progress. There is lots of potential but there are currently lots of issues that take away from the experience. Things to know: Not a property for anyone with mobility issues. Lots of stairs and access to the property by car or foot is a challenge. Location: nothing nearby except for a small beach just down the hill and a small working fishing village a 20 minute walk away (puerto Angel). A car is really essential unless you just want to hangout at the property. Construction…directly beside and below with accompanying loud music played by the workers. They are expanding the hotel and adding a number of rooms. The noise will impact you more or less depending on the room location. Our room was nice (Mazunte bungalow) but it was by no means luxurious. Lovely private patio with a beautiful view that we could not use during the day due to construction noise but that was very nice in the evenings. Morning sunrises (I know…sunrise over the ocean on the west coast ?) were memorable along with whale sightings from the room. Amenities lacking (drinking water, coffee maker, coffee) on arrival but rectified after repeated requests. Good AC and fans. Everything was very clean and common areas were very nice. The staff were eager to please. Lovely setting in the restaurant with an amazing view. Probably the best restaurant for miles around with a nice menu. Included breakfast was very good. Probably a good option for a relaxing down time stay. And, a property with possibilities undergoing growing pains."

"We arrived on December 1st and they did not allow us to enter. Mrs. Ivonne, the owner of the place, said that there was overcrowding and SHE RESOLD OUR 2-NIGHT ACCOMMODATION EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN PAID FOR. SHE DID NOT HAVE THE ATTENTION TO SHOW HER FACE OR APOLOGIZE."

"Salchi does not have phone service so you rely heavily on wifi. This hotel has wifi but it is awful. There is very little to no strength at any given time. The view is beautiful but you are not on the water. The maintenance of the pool is also very pool. It’s dirty and unkept in both the hot tub and swimming pools. I was also served soup for $350 pesos with bad fish in it and was still charged full price. There are much nicer hotels to stay in in Salchi. I would recommend any of the other ones that are on the water, have wifi, better menus and pools."

"SPENT 10 DAYS IN ONE OF THE NICEST MORE BEAUTIFUL HOTEL IN MEXICO. HAVE NO WORD TO DESCRIBE THE QUALITY, WARMTH AND EXCELLENCE OF THIS PLACE AND ALL THE STAFF, ALL OF THEM ARE COMMITTED TO GIVE YOU THE BEST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE. THE BREAKFAST BEEN INCLUDED, EVERY DAY WAS AN AMAZING TASTEFUL ENJOYABLE THING. FROM MOLE ENCHILADAS TO TLAYUDAS TO CHILAQUILES... SO GOOD. LUNCH, DINNER? ALSO SO GOOD SO ENJOYABLE. NEW YEARS DINNER WAS EXTRAORDINAIRE, CHEF CREATED A VERY DELICIOUS 3 (OR 4?) ENTREES... WE REALLY ENJOYED IT SO MUCH. SO, IN CONCLUSION. OUTSTANDING PLACE TO STAY AND VISIT WHAT IS STILL, ONE OF THE NICEST PLACE IN MEXICO, STILL RAW, NICE, NOT CORRUPTED AS OTHER PLACES THAT IT IS PUERTO ANGEL. THERE IS ONE PLACE TO STAY, XENO HOTEL & BOUTIQUE"
