Location: The hotel is centrally located in Santa Marta, within a 10-minute walk to the lively downtown area and near the beach, offering convenient access to local attractions and restaurants.

DO NOT STAY HERE – ITEMS STOLEN FROM THE SAFE! I was robbed from the hotel’s safety deposit box, and the hotel did little to help. I checked in and placed my American and Colombian passports along with cash in the safe. I stayed for 2 nights and never reopened the safe after securing my belongings the 1st night. When I checked out, I completely forgot to take my passports/ cash. I realized my mistake while traveling to another town an hour away and immediately tried to contact the hotel. No one answered my calls, so I sent multiple emails with my room number, urgently asking them to check the safe. It took two hours for them to respond, and when they finally did a video call, the safe was closed—but empty when opened. I never reopened the safe after locking my items inside. Housekeeping never cleaned the room as I was working there the whole stay. The worst part was the management’s complete lack of response. I called the manager repeatedly, but she refused to return my calls. I was polite and simply wanted answers, but she ignored me and gave me the email of the hotel’s director, who has also failed to respond. Who does that? This was clearly an internal theft, and the hotel did nothing to address it. Called the police- who have been very gracious and kind. Fortunately I know a lot of high profile public figures who have stepped to help and connected me to top area officials. I will be reporting on social media. Stay at your own risk.

Check in was quick and easy. I accidentally arrived through the bagel place at the front of the hotel and the person working there showed me how to get to reception. We had booked an apartment that with two rooms. There were basic facilities there. The rooms were spacious with plenty of space for luggage. However, the paint was peeling off the walls and there were many damp patches. There was black patches on the walls in some areas. The damp air in the rooms made it at times difficult to breathe and this improved upon leaving the room. The swimming pool is small and refreshing. It is in a courtyard with some shade. The room was noisy and you could hear loud music from other guests during the night. There is a staff member at reception 24 hours. However, it was difficult to order a drink at the bar and pay for things in advance. It was only possible to pay at the end of the trip and settling the bill took a long time. The check out was long and not efficient.
