This family holiday of 6 adults & 3 children was an experience not to be missed. The entertainment for the children was first class & provided by the hard working, non stop Pirate troupe. The all inclusive holiday was exceptional value for money & made better by the pleasant catering & bar staff. Two of those staff deserve a special mention, Milos behind the bar & Beverley the guest representative. Those two people made the holiday even more pleasant by way of their hard working & pleasant disposition.

Stayed here for 10 nights from 27th May to June 6th with my husband and 2 kids age 12 and 7. We were delighted when we arrived and saw the exterior of the building. It's fantastic. Check in was quick and uneventful. The reception area was pirate themed throughout. The receptionists are so nice and helpful. We were allocated room 258 off we went. Lifts are quite small and there are only 2 to service the whole complex so it was quite a trek to our room. The front door of the room was quite flimsy. It felt as though a good gust of wind would blow it from its hinges however, we never felt unsafe at any point during our stay. The room was clean and pleasant. There was a pirate themed bedroom with an enormous bed and wardrobe big enough for the whole family. There was a safe in the wardrobe (23 euro for a week, 7 euro for each additional 24 hours plus a 10 euro deposit....bit steep but paid it as I wanted to keep cash and passports etc...safe). There was a spacious bathroom with walk in shower and pirate themed curtain. The kitchen was adequate with fridge, hob, kettle, toaster and microwave. Lots of cupboards to store your food. There was a pull out couch which could be used as a double bed or 2 single beds. There was a flat screen tv (10 euro deposit for remote). There's was a spacious balcony overlooking the pool with a table and chairs. Housekeeping tended to our room 6 days a week, giving fresh towels, bed linen etc... The pool was lovely although it did tend to get extreamly busy and a bit manic. The kids enjoyed it though. The entertainment team were brilliant. The pirate attack on a Sunday is not to be missed. It made our entire trip!! We didn't avail of the kids club as the kids didn't fancy it, however I heard amazing things about it. If you are self catering like us, there is a supermarket less than 1 minute away where you can get all your essentials. Location is great. Quiet surroundings and 5 minute walk from the beach. Our flight home was late and we were lucky enough to have a late checkout. We could keep our room until 6pm for an additional €40. However, if this isn't available, you can store your luggage and still use all the facilities until your transfer time. Overall we had a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone with young children. You won't regret it.

We stayed at Pirate Village with our 5 year old daughter and we had a great holiday and she loved it there especially the pirates and that’s coming from more of a princess type girl. There was more positives that negatives and we would definitely think of coming back. We booked self catering and didn’t eat there preferring to head out for dinner so we can’t comment on the food. Positives Location – On arrival the outside of the building looks amazing and check in was quick. It’s only a couple of minutes to the beach and shops and restaurants in one direction and theres a big supermarket up the road in the other direction and a massive shop selling all sorts from beach stuff to homewares across the street. Lots of decent restaurant within walking distance and we found a few small playgrounds nearby and found a short cut to the main ***** for a change from the Village, Bar code is a bar there that has a kids area out the back with bouncy castle, jumping trampolines and a supervised inside area for kids, so handy for the kids to be occupied while you sit and have a drink. Pools – theres pools for all ages and lots of lifeguards on duty and the mini waterpark was great for a bit of variety. It opened from 10 until 6. Entertainment staff, the pirates and the shows were amazing and the pirates really stay in character and the kids loved them but some of the very small kids were really scared. The pirate attack on a Sunday is brilliant and the entertainment staff do lots of fun stuff during the day in and around the pool with the kids, probably more suited to a slightly older child than ours though. Kids club – It felt really secure, with the door always locked and a buzzer to get in and out and sign in sheets and lots of activities and includes a free lunch. Apartment – all apartments were pool facing and didn’t seem as dated as some of the reviews, it was cleaned daily and had a huge comfortable bed as well as a pull out bed in the living area. Handwash, shower gel, washing up liquid and toilet paper were all provided. You need to put a deposit down for the remote for the telly but you get it back and departure. Its basic but then how much time are you really spending in it. Negatives We were self catering and the kitchen area was fairly limited space wise, not even an area to drain ware and no plug for the main sink to washup and a tea towel would be handy. There was literally one pot for cooking, which everything stuck to, a frying pan or extra saucepan would be great. Also a sweeping brush was provided but no pan to gather up the dirt especially sand after a day at the beach so it was pointless. Sunbed wars The sunbed situation was crazy, I’ve never seen anything like it, they were locked up at night and then unlocked around 9 in the morning. People put towels down on the artificial grass around the pool at all hours of the morning to “reserve” their space and then it was like panic stations at 9 with people waiting around the p

Had a great family holiday at the pirates village. The staff were excellent and even catered for my partners gluten allergy by preparing additional foods for her. The shows were fantastic for the kids and the staff were extremely helpful. Special mentions to Beverly who looked after us from day one and Christian who was a real gent in making our family feel extremely sorry on the last night by seating us at a special table to watch our last show. Thank you to everyone and would highly recommend!!

Lovely hotel, very clean and the entertainment team very professional, best Iv seen , in any hotel I'v stayed. Pirates get the children really involved in plenty of activity's. From chasing around the pool to water fights and foam part in the kids club.

I am still in shock from our stay never have I known a family be evicted for something that was really nothing to do with them no warning and even the manager would not come out and deal with it (he needs to grow a pair ) and deal with complaints not just hide in his office all over a football granted it hit a member of staff but earlier in the day I was hit but no one wanted to know about it . I was on a big family holiday the kids seem to enjoy it . Entertainment was good when it was on which was most nights except Wednesdays only two days out of the week we stayed was there day time entertainment which was a bit disappointing as we thought it was most days Food wasn’t great breakfast was probably the best Paid extra for a themed room which was ok but there was all mould on the roof of the shower and a leak dripping through Rooms only cleaned twice in the week Some staff are really not nice and are miserable We definitely won’t return and waste our money I wouldn’t rate this a four star

Well where to start we arrived around 1am with kids they were all thirsty but there was nothing available we had euro notes asked reception for some change for the vending machine and he threw a pen at me said the safe is closed and to fill out the form. Also be weary of the women on at night constantly harassing the kids playing football on the pitch outside reception it got to a point where a family were kicked out of the hotel and she even popped a football of a 6year old with a knife. The food the food the food it’s nice of you like pizza and chips it’s below average and watch out for the meat balls 4 people in out party were poorly after having them can’t fault the steak and lamb off the bbq section. The older kids loved it jumping off the rocks etc but if you have toddlers I wouldn’t bother not suitable for them the main pool is way to deep I spent 7 days chasing my 2 toddlers around the pool. No security or doors to the main road from the pool area and none of the staff stop a fleeing 2 year old running through reception. The ice creams are a rip off 4-5 euros each. The pirate shows are fantastic and the kids loved them although we were under the impression they’ll be stuff going off through out the day but that’s only twice a week it’s still lots of fun. There’s not much for kids to do in Santa Ponca so can’t go out the hotel I will not be returning to the pirate village or Santa ponca again there are alot better places to go don’t waste you’re time or money
