We were notified just 24 hours before our departure that the hotel had cancelled our booking — a trip planned for a special birthday. No explanation, no apology, just a sudden cancellation. This left us scrambling at the last minute to find alternative accommodation, turning what should have been an exciting, joyful lead-up into a stressful, anxiety-filled mess. Thankfully, we managed to secure another hotel about 1km away, or the entire holiday would have been ruined. Out of curiosity, we visited the original hotel during our stay to ask what happened, only to be told by reception that “it was the boss’s decision.” No apology, no accountability, no concern whatsoever. We’ve travelled widely and have never experienced such unprofessional and careless treatment. This is not how you treat guests — especially with no communication or effort to help find a solution. Absolutely unacceptable.
