Shanghai Huating Boutique Hotel

Will definitely be staying at this hotel whenever I visit Sanya again. The cleaning lady was extremely kind, polite and friendly, I’m mad at myself because I forgot her name.

Excellent hotel. The rooms are very large and air-conditioned. There are drop-off boxes for parcels downstairs. The walk to the sea takes about 10 minutes, but the hotel courtyard has a huge swimming pool that's open until 10 pm, which is quite unique. The cleaning staff also mopped the floors in the room, which was a nice touch. I paid for the view from the window, I wouldn't say it was worth it, but it's quieter here than the view towards the courtyard.

The room was amazing, very large with a huge amount of space, including a living room area and a lovely balcony. I had a beautiful view of the ocean from the balcony. The swimming pool was also great and very refreshing to use, especially in the heat. The location is good as well, with the beach only around a 5-minute walk away. However, Donghai Beach was closed during my visit, so I ended up going to other nearby beaches instead. There are a few areas where the hotel could improve. It felt very geared towards Russian tourists, and at times it seemed like they were prioritised more than others (I travelled from the UK). Also, while the pool itself was lovely, the lifeguards were not very friendly and were often sitting around smoking or on their phones, which didn’t give the best impression. The hotel is also missing a great opportunity with the bar area in the middle of the pool, which wasn’t being used at all. It would be a perfect spot to serve drinks and cocktails and really elevate the experience. Overall, it’s a nice hotel with a beautiful, spacious room and good facilities. With a few improvements to customer service and better use of its amenities, it could easily feel like a strong 4 star hotel.
