We stayed at the hotel for 3 days for our birthday. The service was simply superb! From the birthday present to the invitation to the candlelight house champagne after dinner, the staff went out of their way to make the day special. A big thank you! Both our suites and the food were 5 stars! The Convent is an oasis!!! We'd love to come back!

We were part of self guided Portugal Nature Trails bike trip. Amazing historic location! Coming up the hill on our e bikes viewing this beautiful place was a little heaven! Loved the way they have kept the historic parts, like the chapel , to view. The pools were beautiful. Our room was luxuriously simple. Also the hall lamps are filled with olive oil and lit at night! The four of us enjoyed eating outside on the patio for dinner. The only negative was my meal didn't show up until half an hour after everyone else. We enjoyed the tomato soup and cheese board but then everyone else meal, beef I believe showed up. We did ask about my duck and our waiter said soon. Half an hour is not soon! The duck and our dessert was wonderful but timely is key here. As we checked out we were told I should have contacted the office but I assumed the restaurant knew what they were doing. Loved the cork trees and the pottery in Redondo!

The Hotel Convento de São Paulo is a beautiful converted Convent in the gorgeous Alentejo region of Portugal. The hotel is spacious with two pools, the main pool being perfectly situated for sunbathing and affording plenty of sunbeds. The rooms are reasonably spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant serves delicious food at very reasonable prices. The staff are polite, friendly and professional.

Stunning location, cork oaks and pine forests and forest trails through the hills. Beautiful building, tastfully restored and gorgeous pools and sundecks. Restaurant is good and wholesome food, not overly expensive. stayed in one of the Annex near stone cross above the main drive. Near Estremoz and Redondo. This place is a gem, a perfect place for a pampering. Tennis courts, cycling, country pursuits.

This hotel matches the image created on its web site video and then some more. The setting is spectacular and the location is ideal for discovering the upper part of the Alentejo, whether for one night or ideally several nights. We stayed in a suite in the annex which sounds like a lesser location but was anything but. The space and the standards were all excellent in a rustic, country style. We had dinner in the restaurant and the service from Fernando was excellent as was the food. We had garlic prawns, garoupa, rack of lamb , a home-made sweet ( and local wine ) which were all well cooked and tasty. Check in and check out were dealt with in a very professional and friendly fashion by José , who was also extremely helpful with information on local wineries and the Alentejo generally. 🙌🙌🙌

We went to this convent for lunch. Although we didn't stay overnight we would have loved to have done so. For those who like historic places it would be hard to beat. The lunch was excellent and reasonably priced considering the superb surroundings. The staff were very helpful and friendly and when we asked about what to see the two friendly receptionists directed us, so we didn't miss anything.
