The first thing you’ll hear when you arrive are birds chirping. It’s like stepping into Garden of Eden. The hotel is world class in terms of architecture, amenities, service and history. The concierge is very helpful and knowledgeable, they gave me a personalised itinerary suggestions when I checked in, arranged taxis, and even made sure to check on my safety as I am a solo lady travelling in Portugal. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful retreat. It’s a perfect getaway for stressed out business travellers.

Best hotel ever, specially for families with kids. Amazing comfortable room with modest but yet amazing design, atmosphere and service. Great activities for kids. Amazing SPA and Winery. And even a nice village with castle just a few minutes away. Can’t wait to visit soon again!

Everything about the Sao Lourenço do Barrocal Farmscape was 5 stars. The staff, food and lodging are all amazing. Tatianna, João and the rest do the dining staff were always so polite and willing to talk with us. The food is outstanding. Truly farm to table. Everything is so fresh. I learned so much about the local olive oil process and the pumpkin jam is to die for. I hope to come back!

We stayed at São Lourenço do Barrocal for a couple’s getaway and absolutely loved everything about it. The experience was flawless from start to finish. The service was truly exceptional. A special thanks to Arménio, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring with all guests. Müller, who served us at the pool bar, was also extremely courteous and helpful. And we can’t forget André and Tatiana, who kindly prepared off-menu cocktails just for us – a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more special. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and decorated with great taste. The atmosphere across the estate is serene and elegant, with a sense of refined simplicity that makes you feel completely at ease. The surrounding nature is beautifully preserved and adds to the unique charm of the experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay – we’ll definitely be coming back!

Had a wonderful 3 night getaway and absolutely loved it - even on my own. The exceptional nuanced attention to detail is highly impressive. The landscape is so very beautiful and calming. Service is superb, and the food super local fresh and delicious. And if you're a runner, the field trails are a treat where you just might run into some ultra chilled out cows grazing around the property. An opportunity to go back would be welcomed.

A great place for a relaxing holiday. Spacious rooms, Very nice pool in the meadow, feeling of spaciousness, freedom, along with excellent service. Nice smell of herbs in the rooms and public areas. Very pleasant shop with perfect souvenir. Good workshops.

This is a wonderful hotel with lots of charm and character. I would highly recommend it for couples or families. It is beautiful, historic and has everything you could want. The staff was excellent, the food fabulous and the amenities terrific!
