Jozankei View Hotel

The hotel is quite old. From the outside, it looks good, but the room furnishings are very dated. There was a persistent odor, possibly from the bathroom, that made the entire room very uncomfortable. Dinner was a buffet with many choices, but the food wasn't good.

Everything exceeded my expectations, it was fantastic. The food selection was incredibly rich and delicious. The views were first-class. The room was large, and although it showed its age, you could still appreciate its former glory. There were three hot springs, and I absolutely loved the outdoor one; submerging my body in the warm spring water while my head felt cool and clear was so refreshing. Highly recommended. This is a historic Japanese onsen hotel. The hot spring water quality is genuinely good, attracting many Japanese families and couples. There are also quite a few Korean families and Western tourists. However, the overall facilities are a bit old, and the flow within the onsen area is quite complex. There aren't many pools, but they are spread across multiple floors with lots of stairs. Walking around like that **in that condition** felt a bit awkward and cold. The open-air onsen on the 16th floor is shared by men and women at different times, so if all family members want to enjoy it, one day definitely isn't enough (see the last picture for the onsen schedule). The 'water world' is fun and great for kids, and soaking in the hot spring after playing there is very relaxing. The dining is just okay, nothing special, as they mainly cater to group tours. P.S. The scenery in Jozankei is worth exploring, and the nearby ski resort is worth a visit (the kind for playing in the snow). The kids had a blast.

A few issues: The front desk staff's service was quite mediocre; their demeanor visibly changed when they saw a Chinese passport. To cut labor costs, the hotel has hired many staff from South Asian countries, which significantly impacts service efficiency and awareness! The hot spring water always felt a bit under temperature! The hotel opened in 1985, so the facilities are very old. If you're not a fan of traditional old Japanese ryokans, I wouldn't recommend it! Everything else was just so-so.
