The rooms are simple yet spacious and functional. The highlight of our stay was the night and morning tours led by staff member Angel Jimenez. Both tours with Angel were the best and most affordable experiences of our entire trip. The nighttime tour lasted 60–90 minutes, during which Angel expertly located all the nocturnal animals hiding in the area. The morning tour was just as rewarding—thanks to Angel, we spotted toucans, which was something we had really hoped for. Angel is an excellent guide, incredibly friendly, and, as a bonus, speaks very good English. Highly recommended!

On first impression, this is a good lodge, well placed for what it is and offering access to Costa Rica’s bird and wildlife. However, rooms are basic although spacious and functional. However, we and our tour group of 13 visited as part of a TUI Grand Tour of Costs Rica, and the following day - two went down with food poisoning. 6 days later my partner is now on anti biotics and other medications having been unable to hold anything in. Apparently bugs of this sort are not uncommon, but undoubtedly this hotel was the cause of this episode.

Our favorite hotel during a tour of Costa Rica, the staff could not be more helpful, a great relaxed atmosphere, gift shop with good local items, standard Costa Rican breakfast, great opportunities to see an excellent variety of birds. Good swimming pools

La Quinta is just a gorgeous place to stay and explore Costa Rica. From the welcome on your arrival everything is just magical. The wildlife, including the Caymans, the humming birds, the monkeys and much more add to a memorable stay. The rooms are very nice. It’s worth remembering that you are staying in a lodge in the wild so there are plenty of creatures around. Insect repellant is a must but this is a small price to pay for a great experience. All of the meals were excellent and there is a nice lounge to relax and have a beer. We spent quite a few hours watching the birds come and go from the feeders which was delightful

The grounds were beautifully maintained with plenty of wildlife. All staff members were friendly and the food was great in a buffet style. There were many nearby excursions like white water rafting, zip lining, and guided hikes. The best part of my stay was the onsite night hike guided by staff member Angel. The value of Angel's night hike was the best on our entire trip. The night hike lasted from 60-90 minutes. Angel knew where all the nocturnal animals were hiding and he even helped me take some outstanding photos on my cell phone.

The owners built (or planted) a jungle where a cattle ranch had been making a heaven for animals. They have at least 3 cayman as "pets" in one of the ponds on the grounds. There are several walking trails. A great place to see birds as they put out food for them. The rooms are adequate, have air conditioning; hot water works just fine.

Lovely lodge with nice atmosphere, setting and wildlife are excellent. The rooms are rustic, basic but have everything you need. The two swimming pools are set in beautiful gardens with coffee and tea available 24 hours. Birds are fed fruit twice a day which allows you to get excellent photos even with a mobile phone, frogs can be found at night and the lodge gives you a real sense of being remote with nature.

Substandard in many ways. Interior of the room needs complete renovation. Very dated. Poor standard of decor. Plumbing not up to modern standards. Shower is moody. Sink area has now room for tooth cleaning apparatus & cosmetics. Room is dark. The place is far from any alternative dining option and the food is not very appetising. I had a burrito which was obviously pre-prepared & reheated so it was crispy on the outside. The bird table is a nice feature.
