PARKING CAN SOMETIMES BE AN ISSUE, which is endemic in the Scarborough central area.

The rooms were flavorful, breakfast was quite rich, the location was good 10 points convenient, but there was no parking, it took about 10 minutes to walk to the parking, the birds were noisy.

The room leaked in the middle of the night, and the leak has not stopped for more than an hour. It is unbelievable. If I had another choice at such a price, I would never choose this hotel

this hotel is the most run down place we've ever stayed in dont be fooled by photos on the website as the rooms are absolutely nothing like what pictured they very basic very cheap looking and small there so many stairs corridors to go down and up just to get to your room its absolutely outrageous for a hotel of well known company the outside of the hotel is very very run down nothing like what is on the website this place needs millions of pounds sent on it just to get it looking modern massively avoid place at all cost.

Then was told they were closing the following Monday to have work done an the cellar Should of been told staff not helpfull don't seem to care tried ringing travelodge can't get through very funny. work already started on the cellar right outside bedroom window and I'm a career with someone who has cancer so this will be taken to the top

Stayed for 2 nights over Easter, knowing that the buildings in the area are old we weren’t expecting everything to be new. But we did expect it to be clean! Reception and dining area were fine but our room had dirty mouldy window frames and dusty areas. I could live with that but our bathroom was disgusting and was in need of a good deep clean. Dirty bath taps and blocked plug hole, floor looks like it had never been mopped for weeks. And the toilet seat needed replacing, it was so badly stained with what can only be urine! We paid for breakfast when booking online for both days, but were told we would only receive it on one of the days due to maintenance repairs. I was told to contact customer service for a refund as reception were not authorised to do this. (I’m still awaiting a reply from them) I wasn’t expecting 5 star hotel but for £250 for 2 nights I at least expected to receive breakfast both days and a clean room. It’s not all bad it’s in a great location with lovely sea views, it’s just in urgent need of a deep clean!

This was our third stay here having been really pleased on previous stays. This time unfortunately, whilst the general areas were very clean, our room was far from clean and smelt musty. The reception staff were excellent coming and collecting the debris left behind the bed themselves. Food was good as usual but a few items were not available at breakfast as they ran out during the week - apple juice, fresh fruit selection, and yoghurts to name a few. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful, especially Joseph on reception, the menu food is nice and the hotel is in an excellent location for both town centre and seafront. Having stayed before and been happy will stay again but think the rooms could do with a freshen up.

This budget hotel has everything to offer. I paid £73.00 for a two night stay. Very close to the town centre and easy access to the beach, and all the facilities. The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. I have read some of the reviews which I find some are not really accurate. Seagulls, making a noise!!!!!! Why book a hotel by the sea. Rooms dated and need a lick of paint. Well the rooms are clean. Whilst making my way to my room I found the decorations of a good standard. WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANG FOR £35.00 A NIGHT 🤔

I stayed at Travelodge Scarborough St Nicholas on 12–13 March 2026 and unfortunately encountered several serious issues. Room 218 had extensive black mould in the shower and around the windows, damp and cold conditions, wet flooring, and even a rotten floorboard protruding near the bathroom. There was also a smear of faeces on the toilet and a coarse hair in the shower before use. The fixed heater did not work, and the room relied on a domestic portable heater. Most concerning of all, the smoke detector was a domestic FireAngel SB1‑R, showed water staining, and failed its test when pressed. I reported these issues to Travelodge Customer Services but received no reply. Due to the seriousness of the conditions, I have reported the matter to North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and North Yorkshire Council Environmental Health, both of whom have acknowledged my reports. I have stayed in many Travelodge hotels (including this one on two occasions) without issue, but this experience raised genuine concerns about hygiene, maintenance, and guest safety.

Conveniently sited, reasonably priced when booked well in advance. Building a little 'tired' but acceptably clean and tidy. Conveniently sited, reasonably priced when booked well in advance. Building a little 'tired' but acceptably clean and tidy.
