The Esplanade Hotel

Very good, Menu needs updating , staff very pleasant and helpful, entertainment good and bingo if so required , very good for walks on the South Cliff top, but can be a bit on the incline side if you walk across the bridge towards the Grand Hotel and get the cliff lift to the beach front.

The evening main course meal was cold every night except when I had the jacket potato. I paid extra for a Seaview room but was given a poky little single with no view but this was rectified when I complained. The bed was hard and the pillows soft.

The hotel is in a great location with stunning views, the food was very nice as was the service,room was cleaned every day . The staff are friendly and helpful, will certainly return to this hotel as good value for money. On our experience I would recommend this hotel.

Coach trip outing for 5 days. On the whole a good experience. Bedroom clean,bathroom clean and a comfy bed. Generally a bit dated but functional and very welcoming. I was solo so paid small supplement and had a double room which was huge. The food was excellent. Tha lad who makes the puddings is very good and such an enthusiastic young person was a delight to meet. The only reason I have marked down was there seemed to be insufficient staff at meal times and the lack of a supervisor/guide was evident as on several occasions our table (11) and others in the corner were left for 40 minutes between courses. Just needed someone to keep eye on things and direct as needed. Staff all very pleasant and helpful but felt they needed a guide/head person as they were all so very busy. Thank you for a lovely stay and my first daish holiday and I will be back. Lorraine in the office who handled the upgrade was very efficient and helpful too

Most of the food arrived cold. The kitchen frequently run out of certain items. Portion sizes scandalous. Four slices of sausage does not make a portion of sausage caserol. Our first room was dirty, unsafe and generally uninhabitable. We had to move to a room that was almost adequate. This is a 1 star hotel. So we all stayed cheerfully carried on regardless and sang songs. The supervisor Debbie deserve credit for helping us out. The manager needs to be more honest and understand the concept of customer service.

Staff lovely especially the bar man and the receptionist. We were in room G1 very noisy at night as next to the concert room people back and fourth till about 11.30. Paid extra £20 ,each for superior room?? Can't see what was superior was a little bigger then normal room, ses view well if you got right into the corner of the room You could just about see the sea. Food needs help, cheap cereal watered down milk, juices again cheap, portions small wouldn't feed a child, custard like water, l actually missed 2 breakfast and 1 evening meal. If you have mobility issues then it's not for you. O the plus side 1 won bingo 3 nights lol

The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were here as part of a conference and there were lots of us. We had a huge room overlooking the sea on floor 2 and whilst it's very dated, it was clean the bedding was fresh and the bed extremely comfortable. There are all the amenities you need such as tea and coffee, TV and lots of hangers for the money it was good value. Breakfast was excellent

The hotel was clean warm. The room we had was a lovely room. This hotel is in a lovely spot over looking the bay. Food was quite good, seems to have a good choice of menu. Service was very slow. Bar prices was good and bar staff very friendly. On the whole the holiday was good for what we paid

The staff were very friendly and helpful although service at the bar both lunchtime and evening was poor not the staff's fault they did their best,need more staff ,the room was comfortable entertainment was good food was good thanks for not including cinimon in the fruit tarts. The welcome ceremony was very poorly handled not done on bus.Our luggage failed to show at our rooms and when found had the wrong room no on. Overall our stay was enjoyable we love Scarborough but Daish needs to up its game to make us stay at this hotel again
