"One of My Best Stay Experiences—Authentic & Unforgettable This was one of my most memorable hotel stays, and I’ve stayed at many top-tier, five-star hotels around the world. While this may not be the most luxurious in terms of facilities, it more than makes up for it with its genuine charm and warmth. The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel like we were staying at a friend’s home rather than a hotel. This welcoming vibe perfectly complements the enchanting atmosphere of this beautiful ancient city.   The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially from our top-floor room. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, offering a spectacular panorama of the old town and surrounding mountains. The location is ideal—perched on a small hill, it provides an elevated vantage point for those stunning views, though the short uphill walk may be a slight effort due to the altitude. But trust me, it’s worth it.   If you’re visiting Lijiang to immerse yourself in its relaxed beauty and rich culture, there’s no better place to stay. I originally booked for three nights but quickly realized I’d need more time—next visit, I’m planning a full week to truly unwind and soak it all in. This isn’t a place to rush; it’s a place to slow down, savor the moment, and let the magic of Lijiang embrace you.   I can’t wait to return."

"The location of the B&B is very good, right in the ancient city. The room is very clean, large and spacious, which is very rare. You can add an extra bed. The rooms in other B&Bs in the ancient city are very small. The owner and the proprietress are very nice and welcoming. There is a platform for taking photos and checking in on the roof of the B&B. You can see the whole ancient city. The scenery is very good! Very good treasure B&B"

"My wife and I visited Lijiang for the first time, and our stay at this place truly enhanced our trip. The location is incredibly convenient for exploring the Old Town. The panoramic views overlooking the Old Town are simply breathtaking. In the evenings, after a stroll back from the bar street, we'd sit on the viewing platform for a bit, enjoying a beer with my wife and watching the city lights twinkle below. While the music from the bar street can be quite lively, you won't hear a thing once you're inside your room (personally verified in Room 216!). Breakfast is provided. On our check-out day, I spent a blissful hour and a half enjoying breakfast on the viewing platform, just completely lost in thought. The photos I've shared were taken during that time. And now, for the most important part! If you're visiting for the first time, definitely contact the owner beforehand. They'll help with your luggage and even pick you up at the main road to ensure you don't get lost. These aren't amenities you'd necessarily expect, but the owner thoughtfully arranged them all. The owner also recommended and arranged an Ancient Tea Horse Road tour, which was fantastic! It included round-trip transfers, and the owner even personally took us to the pick-up point – I honestly wouldn't have found the meeting point without him. He also helped us book a shared shuttle to Lugu Lake. There are so many other thoughtful details, but I won't list them all here. Seriously, just add him on WeChat!"

"We had a great experience staying at Lijiang Zen Garden Hotel 麗江文晉院客棧 during our recent visit to Lijiang old town. This heritage style hotel is located on the hillside with an excellent commanding view of the Lijiang old town. Our room was like a mirador giving us most amazing bird’s eye view in morning, during the day or in evening of the whole old town. The property, converted from three heritage houses, has been exquisitely preserved and tastefully renovated. Most importantly, the entire staff, lead by Ms. Duan (段思佳 ), was extremely warm, attentive and helpful making our entire stay most enjoyable.  We highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lijiang."

"The staff were helpful and friendly, but the hotel is in serious need of renovation. The photos online are outdated and don’t match the actual rooms. In my room, the wardrobe was blocked by the bed, so I couldn’t use it. There was no real space to unpack, just a small portable hanger. I was relieved to stay only two nights. The balcony is covered, which should be clearly mentioned in the description. The kitchenette was very small with only a kettle and two paper cups — not really usable. The fridge was tiny, unplugged when I arrived, and didn’t cool properly. The bathroom was cramped, with no space to hang towels or set down toiletries. There was no hand soap or small towels. The shower area had a warming light and towel hooks, but once used, everything stayed wet. Basic toiletries like body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. The hotel has great potential. The location is excellent, the staff are wonderful, and the courtyard and large villa are nice features. However, I’d only recommend staying here after the facilities have been upgraded. The note is down a steep sets of stairs. The staff came to meet us at the top and help with our luggage when we arrived and when we left."

"This hotel is conveniently situated near Lijiang Old Town, with several restaurants and a convenience store just down the street. The staff is exceptionally friendly, offering a warm greeting whenever you cross paths. On clear days, you can take in the stunning mountain scenery from the rooftop. A daily highlight is the complimentary afternoon tea. Each evening, the staff hosts a demonstration on how to make traditional ******* butter tea, which is a wonderful cultural experience. As an added bonus, the hotel is home to two adorable mascots—a cat and a dog—who you're likely to meet during your stay."

"The weather in Lijiang is absolutely perfect; I never wanted to leave! It was so pleasant chatting with the owner, and I really admired their carefree and natural way of life. Lijiang is definitely a place I'll return to. Mitu Inn is newly renovated with excellent facilities. Unlike other places where the hot water was inconsistent (either too hot or too cold), Mitu Inn has constant hot water, which is a fantastic feature. Enjoying tea and conversation there was simply wonderful."

"Before coming to Lijiang, I made a long-term strategy with my best friend. Finally, I saw my brother’s live broadcast on ** and decided to book this store on the spur of the moment. We were not disappointed! The store arranged a pick-up service, and the little brother was waiting for us at the gate of the ancient town around 1 a.m. My best friend and I were very touched! There are many tourist attractions and routes around the ancient town. Although we have made a guide before, we still listened to the store manager and helped us avoid many pitfalls. I also checked in the recommended delicious restaurants and snack bars in the ancient town and got discounts, haha! Let’s talk about this store, the more unique Lijiang Inn. It is located in a relatively quiet alley of the ancient town, and you can walk to the main street in 3 minutes. The inn is a small courtyard surrounded by several houses. It is very well maintained and the rooms are large and clean. The breakfast is rich and delicious, the rice noodles made by the store manager are delicious, there is also a whole grain steamer, milk coffee bread and fruit buffet! The price and service during off-season in Lijiang are great value for money! Already recommended to friends!"

"This guesthouse in Lijiang was a hidden gem, offering an incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating stay that completely exceeded all our expectations! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. As soon as we arrived, they helped us with our luggage, brewed local Pu'er tea for us, and shared many insider tips on less crowded routes, helping us avoid the typical tourist traps. Our room was spotlessly clean, with a subtle, pleasant scent of wood from the furniture. Opening the window, we had a lovely view of the bougainvillea and flagstone path in the courtyard. Waking up to the sound of birdsong in the morning was simply delightful. The bathroom had excellent wet/dry separation and plenty of hot water. After a refreshing shower, curling up by the window with a cup of tea and enjoying the view was the perfect embodiment of the slow living we'd always dreamed of. The location was also incredibly convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the heart of the ancient town. We felt very safe returning to the guesthouse after enjoying the night scenery. Plus, they offered complimentary laundry service – truly attentive to every detail! We'll definitely choose this place again on our next trip to Lijiang!"
