This hotel is really very special. Not only is it beautifully located in a peaceful alpine village, it is the service which sets it apart. Between us, we've travelled a lot but we have never experienced service like it. We had a flat tyre en-route, but the wonderful staff ensured that we arrived in the end and the restaurant was kept open for us...nothing was too much trouble. This was a theme throughout our stay...encountering staff who are friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. We were humbled by our stay here-we had great service without feeling served. The wooden walkway serves as the transition between high-end hotel and isolate mountain spa that was so tranquil. Breakfast was spectacular...taken on the terrace and presented in stages...from the bread baked on site to lovely bowls of fruit and more. The owners were very present and if all hotels trained their staff in this way, there would be no need for an option of less than 5 stars on Trip Advisor :-) We would love to return.

The food was rather over fancy for us but always interesting and appetising and occasionally brilliant - the lamb cutlets will live on in my memory! Alex the sommelier was ever present and knowledgable not only on wine but on many subjects! We did a wine tasting with him and saw the wine cellar of the hotel which was expansive and immaculate. The rooms were pristine and very comfortable - with maids coming to turn down the room twice a day with fresh linen every night. My elderly parents were beautifully looked after - nothing was too much trouble - from making us a lovely packed lunch for the onward journey, to creating a special itinerary of local attractions that would be suitable for us. The sauna and whirlpool were equally beautifully looked after. All in all a high quality experience. Thanks so much to every member of the team.
