Tonnara di Sciacca

Really kind staff, very well English speaking, gave us a lot of advice, where to go and what to do. Nice apartments with a patios, beautiful garden and beach with a tower as a simbol of ex tuna factory, right in front. Everything secured with a fence. Easy to find and not too far from charming town of Sciacca. And they serve amazing breakfast with original italian cappuccino and orange juice 😍. Come again next time for sure. Thanks to all of the staff!

This has possibly been the very best stay anywhere we’ve ever had. The courtyard setting is idyllic, the beach is a few steps away, the only sound is the waves lapping on the beach, the suites are perfect with in our case two private courtyards front and rear with sun beds both sides. Facilities within the suites are excellent and the cleaning and linen-changing regime everything one could wish for. The kitchenette is fine for making salads with fridge, dual hob etc. Parking is secure and it’s only five minutes to the supermarket and town. Breakfast is delivered every morning and knocks spots off of most Italian hotel breakfasts. But none of this describes the magic of this place —- the tranquillity, the care lavished on the gardens, the enthusiasm of the owners to make sure everyone is happy. We’ve already booked for next June for 3 weeks. Simply love La Tonnara di Sciacca!!!!!

Great place, great people! We were warmly welcomed by Emanuela and Daniele, the owners, for our two nights get-away in Sciacca. The room allocated was a crisp white comfortable room with a double patio (great for the Sicilian summer). Manicured garden all around and a discreet but efficient staff made us feel immediately at home. The place is literally by the sea! Abundant breakfast served with a twist of originality. A great suggestion for who wishes to explore Sciacca and nearby points of interest (plenty of it). Peace and tranquility. We wished we had stayed longer A place we shall certainly consider returning in the future. G

Great spot to spend time with a very nice beach located on former tuna factory called tonnara. The rooms are independent and with terrasses and gardens very cool to spend time and the breakfast was very original with beautiful local fresh fruits, fresh pastries and farm eggs. We really had a nice time only regret that we could not stay more. Thanks to the very nice and efficient staff. We really enjoyed everything. It is also close to the Marina to buy fish or go to the restaurant to try the gambero rosa di Sciacca a delicious seafood 👍✨🦐Hope to see you again

A difficult review to write as this wasn't quite what we expected but the positives first. The rooms are bright and fresh in a great location close to the beach. They have a small kitchenette and plenty of clothes storage and the larger ones have both an east and west facing private terrace. The bed was super comfortable and the standard of housekeeping was high. There is private car parking close by and the grounds are well maintained. Good wifi. The owners are really helpful and pre arrival emails were answered quickly. There is an allocated beach area but access to it is limited to, broadly, 09.00 to 19.00. Outside of these hours the access gate is locked. There are some very good restaurants in Sciacca which are a 5-10 minute drive. We got lost getting back every time so more like a 15 minute return trip. This is not what I would call a hotel, it is really serviced apartments, which isn't what we expected but that was our mistake. So there are no onsite facilities beyond what is in your room and there are no staff on site overnight (although they are available by phone). This is the reason that, for example, breakfast is delivered to your room in paper bags and cardboard cups and you can sort out putting it onto crockery and into cups and then do your own washing up. So if you want a full service hotel you may want to look elsewhere. If the set up suits you then great! A few suggestions. It would have been helpful to have instructions about what to do on arrival. We found La Tonnara with no problem but you are then faced with 2 gates, one into the hotel grounds and one into the car park but with no way of accessing either of them as you need a key fob to activate the sensors. Fortunately someone was leaving when we arrived so we drove into the car park but some arrival instructions would help. The rooms are serviced every other day with a clean and towel change. We hadn't realised this so again it would have been helpful if this had been made clear. Breakfast is ordered the day before. It then arrives in a box at your chosen time and consists of a choice of coffee, juice (not great to be honest), a choice of pastry and a savoury option. It then seemed to be assumed that you wanted breakfast at both the same time and with the same options every day. If you want to change either you have to find someone to fill in a new request which seemed to come as an odd request when we did so. As others have commented, checkout at 10.00am feels very rushed. Sciacca is a great location for exploring the south west coast of Sicily and for a beach holiday. If the set up here works well for you you will enjoy yourselves.

We stayed four nights in a deluxe room as part of our Italy & Sicily tour. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and liked to small beach with an enclosed swimming area where you have a designated sun bed throughout your stay. So no early morning getting a towel to grab a bed which we are very bad at. Our room was clean and well appointed. A comfortable bed with quality linen. Staff were very friendly and wanted to go out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. However some of the things we didn’t care for were: A lack of communal facilities - no bar or dining room. Hotel rather isolated being 3km from Sciacca centre and €40 - 60 taxi both ways. Our bedroom was on a mezzanine with narrow and steep stairs so would not recommend for young children or elderly people. Cleaning only takes place every other day which for the price of the room was surprising. Checkout is at 10. Overall, we would score this 3.7 out of five but have rounded this up to 4 given how great the staff were.
