This is a recurring pleasant experience that we have enjoyed for many years! It begins at the Front Drive, where accommodating assistance, with smiles and hugs, is provided by the bellmen, including Rob, Troy, and others. The Front Deck, notably Tina, Brody, and others, ensures a smooth check-in, fulfilling our needs. Our villa is excellent, very clean (great housekeeping), and if we have any maintenance issues, the staff is prompt and professional. The grounds continue to be well-maintained and beautiful. A hallmark of the property is the people! Their friendliness and desire to serve our needs are paramount in their priorities. To name just a few of note - Bar/Servers - Dani, Erica, Sean, Devon, Juan, and others; Water/Towels servers (Did I mention it is a desert?) - Ryan, Mike, Aylessia (sic), et. al. keep us hydrated and comfortable. Another amenity is the resort shuttle service that gets us to nearby restaurants and shopping. We come a couple of times a year and are never disappointed.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience at the Villas, particularly in contrast to the exceptional service we received at the main Westin Kierland Resort. Upon arrival, the front desk staff immediately set the tone by making it clear that my Marriott Titanium status held no significance at this property. This was surprising and disheartening, especially given the high standards I’ve come to expect from Marriott properties. Our check-in process was further marred by an unwelcoming warning about towel usage, emphasizing a $35 charge for using “too many.” We were then placed in a room with a view—unfortunately, of towel carts and a storage area. The patio, which we hoped would offer some peace, was instead filled with staff chatter, eliminating any sense of relaxation. When I requested a detailed receipt, the front desk staff informed me that they could not provide one. Rather than assisting further or directing me to someone who could help, the manager, Tina, simply echoed the same response. This lack of initiative and support was particularly frustrating. To make matters worse, while at the pool in 101-degree heat, a server walked past me multiple times without any acknowledgment, despite serving other guests in the same area. This experience has fallen far below the Marriott standard and has left a lasting negative impression. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it reflects a clear need for improvements in both staff training and guest service.

Parents beware! Parents, please beware. The Kids Club "childcare" at The Westin Kierland Villas is terrible. Do not leave your children here! The Villas finds it perfectly acceptable to leave a single child and single adult (often a single male with little childcare experience) alone with children in a room with very little visibility in and no cameras. They let their pool staff oversee the children when regular childcare workers are not available - sometimes for half a day at a time. They're extremly condescending and unreasonable and are more interested in protecting untrained, ill-mannered staff than giving them childcare training. The two male employees I encountered had zero patience, kindness or consideration on how to speak to a mother. The first day I tried leaving my child here they did not feed her anything for over 6 hours. Today I simply could not leave my child alone with another terrible, condescending male employee with no experience. I literally had to call my client that I flew to AZ to see and explain the situation. Understandably they did not want me to bring my daughter to work around their baby who hadn't had a flu shot yet so I had to cancel 1 of 2 days I specifically flew to AZ to see this client for. The Villas were full of excuses and defenses and (unlike the resort, whose staff were completely professional) had no interest hearing how a mother feels. I'm happy to follow up wiht any questions by the public or comments from The Villas. Parents, please do not leave your kids here, it's not a complete gamble on if you'll get a real caregiver or just resort staff. The Villas will say they are trained - but what is the training? Just don't. If you are a small business owner, like me, or anyone working - do NOT rely on them for support or care. I will never use hotel childcare services after this awful experience. The entire reason I chose Marriott was because they had childcare, next time I will stay elsewhere.

The Villas are nice, as is the property but a few issues. One our Villa needed maintenance (loose cabinet handles, mold in shower) to which the response was they’ll attend to it upon our checkout. Next the shower wash, shampoo and conditioner bottle in the shower were near empty when we checked in on Thursday but never refilled when the room was serviced and empty by Saturday. Poor housekeeping. Lastly they give you a card that entitles you to a 10% discount at the Villas and hotel but when you go to use it, lots of issues. Lastly all services (spa, golf, etc) use surge prices so when they are busy you pay more (despite any posted prices or notices to that effect).

If you think this nice, fairly pricey resort has cameras on the property, in the parking lots, or at minimum at the entrance/exit- you would be sadly mistaken. I was staying here for 20 days during a move, and my suv was rammed in the parking lot over night. The police said they needed a license plate. I went to security to have them look at the footage, just to find out that none existed. Not one camera in the parking lot. The total damage to my Range Rover was just over 15k. Worse, I stay at this hotel a few times a year around the past 8 years and received no compensation for their negligence to their lawful obligation that requires a duty of care on their premises. It’s unbelievable. I am fairly certain every guest staying there thinks there are cameras, particularly in the parking lot. If a child was kidnapped, the Westin would have no license plate for the police. A thief could hit every car in the lot because not only is no one watching non existent cameras. This parking lot would be a haven for criminals, although even the criminals would assume an upper tier Marriott property has security and cameras. As for security- they took 25 mins to arrive…by golf cart from the other property (that is a 5 mins walk). Very frustrating. Here is a photo of their sign, that I believ states they are not responsible for damage, theft, property, etc on premise. Very helpful!

We stay here each year and its always a great fit for our family. The rooms are nicely kept and spacious. The kitchen is so great for easy breakfast and lunches. We use the bbq area which is very clean and well stocked with utensils. The shuttle takes us to Safeway for groceries and the nearby Kierland Comons for shopping and restaurants. We booked a cabana at the main resort which was reasonably priced and great service. Drinks and food were overpriced so a $450 bill for lunch was hard to swallow. Eat in your villa beforehand. The villa pools were jam packed and it was too hard to find seats plus very little shade. So we often turned back because it was just too crowded and families got there super early to hold chairs even though they werent there. The staff shouldn't allow that to happen. But its a great place to stay with a family. Great beds, clean, nice kitchen (no oven!)and easy access to main resort.

Scottsdale Uneventful, other than the dust storm. Would have been nice if more than 1 pool.

Disappointed & Not Worth the Investment We are currently staying at this villa and are extremely disappointed with the experience so far. On the day we arrived, my boyfriend got locked out on the balcony due to a faulty security bar that fell when the door closed behind him. I was out grocery shopping, and he was stuck outside in the heat for over an hour! When we unpacked, we realized we’d been placed in an ADA-accessible room. While we respect the need for accessible accommodations, it would’ve been nice to be told in advance. The closet rod is so low that all my dresses are dragging on the ground! That evening, the cable went out for hours, and we had been looking forward to watching the NBA Finals in our room. Instead, we had to leave and find a sports bar. This morning, we discovered the cooktop is broken, so we couldn’t even make breakfast & now we have to wait for them to fix it or give us a new room. Bottom line: everything feels like it’s falling apart. If you’re considering a timeshare here – DON’T! Owners seem to be placed in the worst, most neglected units. This experience has been frustrating, inconvenient, and definitely not the relaxing getaway we expected.
